Ok? Then realign your values. 6-7 shots is perfectly fine if the whole advantage for you is not having to worry about the target hitting you at all… You really think it’s balanced to have something shoot at any range to kill with three shots? Do you really, actually not see a problem with that??

Strongly disagree. We are talking about headshots on moving targets at extreme ranges.
In shooter’s stance, you are not able to move. Your target can move and find cover.
If you land 6 consecutive headshots from shooter’s stance on a moving target, that should be a kill in my opinion.

Muskets should be removed, they will always be either too good or too shit. Impossible to balance a hitscan weapon that actually requires skill in a game with the skill ceiling of a outhouse.

I’m a musket user since the beta and I’ll be still using it until the game gets shut down, but a one shot sniper in New World would be very bad. New World is not a fps game. Not everyone has ranged abilities. If snipers could one shot people, and if you have good aim, you could probably kill like 15 people running at you from a distance; maybe even more.
The only problem I have with the musket damage is that healers can out heal it effortlessly. They can stand still and tank musket headshots without repercussions. I acknowledge that it is possible to kill some healers. I have to use a burning shot + shooter stance combo. I need to hit every shot for this to work. However, some healers are unfazed by this damage.
Plagued crits perk fixes that for the most part
Light armor, 570GS, full resil, all tier 5 diamond, every healing bonus possible 200con/200foc. I can’t just stand still outhealing headshots. Without Intensify or protectors touch, I’m dead in around 3 shots. Heavy armor is the problem, not healers in general.
that sounds like someone with heavy armor and probably 200 con, some of my light friends get hit for 4k+ from muskets
That player was ovviously an heavy geared one. I play light, muskets do tons of dmg on me, from 1 Km, with hitscan. I guess muskets need a nerf then?
