Mutated Dungeons Require DPS meters

Some of those issues are legit, but… musket complaints? There are other dex weapons that are good in dungeons, and since musket is actually good single target it shouldn’t be be bad for 3 out of 4 expedition bosses. The only one who has adds is the caretaker in Genesis.

DPS meter is not a bad suggestion, however it will lead to some issues. I believe meters are great for large raid settings for leadership to see what is going on, I’m not sold on it is needed for 5-man groups. There are a lot of selfish players in games. This will most likely lead to players worrying about personal glory and will disrupt other areas of gameplay. Players will think more for themselves (even more than they do now).

  1. Forget about getting a revive from a DPS when he is on the clock. He will be trying to max his/her numbers at all costs and will only rez as last resort.

  2. DPS will play stupid. Forget about tank aggro when DPS numbers are in play, they will take stupid risks and cause wipes due to personal glory numbers. IE: rushing to the mob before tank and ping ponging aggro, etc.

  3. Unless you plan to oust any player (maybe even a paying one) you perceive as lacking in the middle of the dungeon, what good are the numbers? It’s too late at that point, you are stuck with the player til the end. Bouncing players mid dungeon cause his numbers suck will cause more problems than what it’s worth. (After bouncing player are you gonna do interviews for the next group member mid dungeon?). At that point it is just a waste of time and just deal with your situation.

Look at the current player base. How many times you see players dying to boss mobs on chest runs, while others off looting the chest first, mining nodes, etc. Players for the most part (other than organized guilds), are for themselves. DPS meter may cause more harm than good. Even though it would be nice in game tool for personal weapon/gear evaluation.

I came to NW to wind down from the MMO job and it has that appeal. In 99 in EQ as one of the 7 active server monks (5 of which knew what they were doing), I pulled raids around the clock, every day for guilds. It was a fulltime job. In EQ2 in a top raid guild (#8 US and #13 worldwide) we obsessed over numbers, hurt guildmates feelings by excluding them nightly and wasted so much time wrapped up into things that really meant nothing. The days of pages/calls in the middle of the night to “get on game now!”, are over for me.

DPS numbers are a slippery slope. I think we should just appreciate NW for what has, sometimes less is more.

Nope its not. When you are tank you need to tank you cant do best dps while tanking no one ask him to do … dps .

Dps meter good for overall you can see yourself how you can do better and you can challange with your friends.

You missed my point, DPS will pull aggro from tank (attacking before tank establish, not backing off, etc). Post had nothing to do with tank/healers. DPS meter for the 3 DPS classes in group that will be the issues.

i understand what you mean. When i m going with my friend we all the time waiting first tank to engage. Yeah in some party maybe someone can jump fast but that will end hes death. Just let him die and he never do this again :smiley:

Yep, and if the team is good enough, you can burn him down without worrying about the adds.

You brought up the clear issue… then swerved around it like you didn’t see it … WTF… Clearly the issue here is how much VALUE you put on a run simply because of how much of a pain in the ass it is to craft an orb to enter it… solve the problem by removing the time gate and orbs all together 100% from the game and just let people grind the damn content to get their gear like any other game… The issue isn’t not having DPS meters… the issue is you value your stupid orb so much that you want the devs to put IN a dps tracker so you can feel like you are not wasting an ORB on a run with limp dicks… THINK FIRST, then talk… your idea is trash and would do nothing but hurt the game.

And no removing orb timegate is not the sole issue of the content. Removing the Orbs would automatically mandate the reward consistency get nerfhammered again just after they buffed it this patch.

BiS gear should not come from 2 garbage endgame dungeons that are not even true endgame content.

It is just piss design from the devs to even put 600 GS items at the end of a 5 man instead of turn places like Myrk into a 15 man raid content and reward it from those locations.

this game allow and encourage you to swap weapon according to what’s needed.

if you only play 1 weapon you will forever be a third-rate citizen.

No. Just NO. No DPS meters. No “RIO” score. Fuck that shit. Get some friends to play with. If you want only progress, get into a (hardcore) company.

my 2nd weapon is rapier but my armor is light armor to give so called %20 more damage but it is a lie against plate armor users while most of the players are full legendary heavy plate armors in the server. Light armor is bad at close range combat…

Close range with light armor is a total dead against melee, and even against bow and magic weapons because they give tons of damage with DOTS, CC etc… What about musket to give tons of damage instantly with single hits or via skills? There is none. Musket can see only 100 meters range so +100 meters you don’t see objects or players, so once you are spotted thy are easy to get close to you and you are dead when that happens… Attacking from far away is not in favor of musket because the damage ration is so low comparing to bow, magic weapons etc, even melee weapons…

Other weapon combination for switching weapons is worth because you can CC and do lots of damage while it is not case for musket and its corresponding weapon switch.

If you don’t play as musket, you cannot understand our pain that AGS makes us to suffer (even you play good, musket limits your game play because there is no balance between armors and weapon types at all, which musket has lots of problems that AGS didn’t fix still). How many people play as musket according to statistics really that noone wants us to expeditions and even at pvp because musket is not efficient at pvp and pve as dps output or CC etc.

have different gearset. have different weapon set.

if you want to have 1 set for everything just GTFO to a game that’s doesn’t encourage swapping around.

from the moment mob weakness / strength system has been introduced, it was clear this game would encourage different weapon.

f you don’t play as musket

the musket is good to destroy ennemy siege in war , headshot spriggan / void destroyer in invasion, and be annoying in OPR.

it is not a PvE weapon. equip a spear.

I have a tanking set. a hatchet set for genesis, a hammer set for laz, a spear set for Dynasty, a bow/spear for invasion, a VG set for war… the heck you doing?

Do you play mmo’s? Everyone knows a tank is not going to top the damage meters if they do you have an issue. No one is obsessing over dps its just a way to measure performance and see if you yourself have deficiencies with your rotation stats or perks. If you have a person that is skilled at dodging and evading mobs but can’t dps while doing so you have another problem. The thing is you seem to forget dead people cannot dps so if you can’t dodge or evade you aren’t a good dps.

It definitely won’t be implemented because AGS does not want to balance these weapons. You would see that range weapons would be significantly behind their melee counterparts. They would have people complaining and would need to somehow try to balance them. They won’t do it simply for the fact they don’t want to balance it.

Kicking people should 100% be allowed why suffer through a dungeon where 1 person is trolling the entire group holding them hostage. Just use the group vote system if 1 person gets kicked the orb is dead anyways.
