Unfortunately I have no further information at this time.

I have heard from other players that they received Leaderboard Rewards for Mutations after placing in top 5/25 after the leaderboards have reset. I cannot personally test this as I have placed in the top 5 for rewards both weeks. If this is true, which I believe it is considering the source has no reason to lie to me. This needs to be fixed and rewards given to players after leaderboards have been reset should have the rewards taken away.

I’m not sure if this exact bug/exploit has been mentioned/looked into or not.
