Let me be clear and concise here. I am writing this feedback because of the overly aggressiveness I see in what I feel should not be aggressive animals. As I leveled up and continue to increase my expertise now that I have reached the level 60 cap in the game, I am seeing more and more aggressive behavior from a group of mobs in the game that I feel should be less and less aggressive towards players the higher level they achieve …this being the wild goats and boars that roam all over Aeternum. Yet this is not the case.
I can run down any beach in the game and not a single crocodile will I aggro. I can stand behind a singular roaming Lost on some roads or Corrupted on others and not have this mob aggro on me immediately as one might expect. I cannot however do this with the boars or goats. The goats of The Great Cleave area for example may pretend to shy away but as soon as you pay them no mind, boom they are headbutting me from behind, while the white wolf that’s also 20 feet away does nothing aggressive at all. The wolf will continue on its prescribed path of walking and only if I break across this path will the wolf then become aggressive and attack me. Not so with the goats and boars. I have had them come running across my view screen here to attack me for no reason other than they appear to have an unusually large “aggro” radius and I stepped across its boundary. So why does this boar or goat have an aggro range that appears to be at least twice that of a wolf or a crocodile, creatures we consider to be more dangerous than said goat or boar?
The boars in Cutlass Keys are like this as well, even more so. They are like level 30-something mobs and yet my level 60 char gets chased by them every time I’m down in this zone. It’s unreal the amount of aggro and the range they have. I have played in many MMOs and this is by far the only one where I am more annoyed by the aggression of what should be a “neutral” and non-aggressive mob yet can’t run down a single road without having to stop and kill these mobs just to get them off my back on my way to a particular destination. It’s not fun to have to stop and kill everything all the time just to play the game yet with this hyper aggression these mob types have, this is exactly what I have to do every day I play this game.
I’m not asking to have them stop completely but their aggression check and aggro radius I feel need to be looked at and adjusted. Even if they are aggressive for a “Lore” reasoning, it’s too much. If the cats and wolves and crocodiles don’t aggro me for just running past them, then maybe the boars and goats can tone this aggression of theirs down some as well.
