My experience last night (not great)

Logged on around 9pm. I’m 600 expertise everywhere except for some jewelry slots that need 30-40 expertise. My plan was to get a dungeon run in and maybe a corruption portal run in before I go to bed.

  • No one on my small company is on(10 people mostly irl friends). We are down to 2 active and 2 semi-active including me. Those guys are trying Lost Ark or just don’t want to play until bug Feb bug fix patch. I expected this so not a big surprise.

  • Go to get my cooldowns done. First problem arises. The pop on the server is steadily declining, the benches aren’t being kept up to T5. So my normal refining routine which takes about 5 mins now is extended to having to get the mats and refining gear and porting around to get it done. Took me about 15 mins and a bunch of Azoth. The Tax gold dupe for companies the past couple of months were terrible but at least it meant the benches were being kept up? Not sure if any other reason downgrades are such a problem again.

  • Check my orbs. I don’t want to do a mutation because of Dynasty. I can buy Genesis on the faction vendor, the others are locked out. So I get the Genesis.

  • Shout on Global for a team. Charging 1k. Takes me 20 mins to put together a group; which is kinda crazy. Tank took the longest to get and I had to eventually drop the 1k for that role.

  • Whatever, at least we’re running the dungeon. LAG DETECTED a few times at the beginning. In the middle of the tree defense we all get booted to the main menu. I think the whole server crashed. Logged back in after about 10 mins. We’re outside the dungeon. The orb has been burned. I refund the guys who paid.

  • It’s past 10pm now. I’m determined to get a full dungeon run in. I go to the town I craft my orbs: Stonecutting table is not T5 anymore. I look at the Genesis recipes on what I need to take to another town. It’s a real pain in the ass. Every second I’m doing this feels like wasted time. I realize I’m short on voidstones for the runestones and crystals for the lodestone. At this point I’m fed up. I could just go buy the mats but I’m mentally done. I log off.

I can’t help but feel if the orbs weren’t a thing I’d at least have got to do SOMETHING I really wanted to do in the game. I realize this Lost Ark pop drain is temporary and I won’t experience it every day, but it’s a harsh reminder how much pop is needed to keep the game enjoyable; especially at end game.

Feb patch can’t get here soon enough.

The best way around this kind of thing is to install lost ark

Cool story X most everyone else. You really thing the FEB patch will bring back players? They break more than they fix EVERY patch. They lose players with EVERY patch. You must be looking to the sky to find a falling star to make a WISH that FEB is gonna what? Save the game lol.

Only way to save this game is to shut it down rework the entire game. Then release it without any duped or exploits. Good luck with that.

The OPR patch well usually there is always a mechanic involved that the players hate, Good luck with that,

Oh it’s definitely copium. I’ve come to terms with that. My hope is enough people get burned out by Lost Ark or some realize it’s just not the same type of game then come back to this to check out the OPR and combat updates in the Feb patch.

I’m not touching OPR until that patch for example.

I have been getting Lag Detected too a lot. We did our war yesterday and all of us were lagging.

As for the population, I am sure were playing LA because early access started yesterday and in a couple days it will be open for f2p to all. So I am sure more will play it. I got the game and played some yesterday and the game is fun and all, but not to where I see myself playing that as my main game let alone pump in lots of hours a week on it.

I think people have just stopped playing in general because there is still a lot of that needs to be fixed. Lots of content still needs to be added etc. Taxes issue not being address and have 0 communication on is driving some out also.

You think it will be bad now with LA. Wait till Feb 25 when Elden Ring comes out too. LA will still be considered new and only a couple weeks old and then another highly anticipated game launches.

We all have our “coming to grips with the game’s reality” moment. Sounds like you might have had yours. Each one is different, and yet, they are all the same.
