Well - if you cant play a healer then dont play a healer?
I do not seem to be having that much of a problem playing healer. Heavy armor, lifestaff and then either sword&shield or hatchet with Amber gem work pretty good with 300 focus / 100 con for me.
While sword and whiled is a bit slow it allows you to kill almost anything in PvE - just takes a while. Some of the nastier elite bosses can take up to 20 minutes to go down solo.
I completely agree with your statement. I am a level 50 running a sword/board and LS build and have never had a problem solo apart from needing help with Elites. I can PVE 1v3 lvl 49-51 mobs, or 1v6 lvl 44-46 mobs. Super ez to level, quest, or dungeon run.
It never should have been done. Too many people donât understand how much of a core mechanic the LMB is. Its probably the only skillful element of life staff and they just straight up removed it from the game. Now healers are circle bots and will be using their secondary almost longer than their life staff.
If they thought it was too powerful for wars and didnât want the effects lagging people out, they should have given it the splash of light treatment where it only affects your party. For splash of light, it removed the skill from the gameâŚfor LMB it would make it still useful in small scale pvp and pve. Life Staff LMB was the most balanced, well designed thing in this game and they took it out for âWar-related performance optimizationâ.
Playing a Paladin is literally the easiest way to solo play this game. You never die. I see these dps players getting chunked down so fast while I clear anything without a sweat. Also enjoy duelling sweaty dps players who complain that all I do is just heal and tankâŚlikeâŚisnât that the point? Seems like many players first time playing an mmorpg.
Stop it. This change has nothing to do with PvP tankiness, nor does it have to do with PvP healing outside of a war. Stop funneling this stuff into a âhealing is overpoweredâ flowchart because it doesnât belong there. This change is essentially equal to removing the LMB from ANY OTHER WEAPON. It must be fixed, it must be returned and if anythingâŚthe healing range should be INCREASED AND NOT REMOVED ENTIRELY.
If you wanna get healing nerfed, just wait for the resilient perk fix. This will reduce healing effectiveness on Heavy Armor targets by ~70%. Currently the healing effectiveness on heavy armor is sitting around 160-180%. When that gets reduced to about 90-110%, everything changes big time. Itâs essentially a ~60% reduction to all healing on a heavy armor target PASSIVELY ON ALL HEALS ALL THE TIME.

this is the problem with responding to everything. they nerf too quick, and just blow problems up wtih dynamite. I remember in that week after that all of a sudden groups had to give up runs for not finding heals. This is how NOT to solve problems. Stop listening to these trolls about fire staves, gold dupes, life staves, hatchets, & uâd have the best game in the world right now. They burned down the whole game over these trolls with now 100k barely holding on for life, and probably half of them just the trolls and sellers now anyways.
It was all fake btw. the fire thing was winning wars on both sides and topping damage numbers but that was IT.
invulnerability was just making ranged people mad, but on both sides; particularly defenders.
gold dupers caused no harm at all anywhere.
hatchets are still underpowered for no shield, and even if they had all their âloopholesâ right now, they needed it just to barely compete
it was all trolled up shi* affecting no one in the real daily game, but guess what ran away everyone? theyâre responding to it by blowing everything up.
oh thereâs a gold dupe? oh hereâs this 7-hour patch every two days and a vanished tradehouse, now have fun. have fun though, u hear? Lost 440,000 Pacific WoWâs over this crap that joined it for steady-state. u lose that or the trade, forget it. these peoplpe work wierd shifts, they gotta be able to play.
If that was your take from my comment then perhaps you should reevaluate my purpose in defining the role of a healer/paladin. No intention of encouraging a nerf. Relax, smoke some or take a xanny bro.
I just did some testing. I tested great axe and hatchet at 300STR, then tested them with 300FOC (no STR) and then again with a 50% amber gem in both with 300FOC.
With both weapons the 300FOC build with amber gem did approx 60-65% of the damage done at 300STR. I think this is a fair amount of damage considering we just donât die.
Yeah, but the people that canât solo anymore are useless healers anyway.
They relied on a micro heal for 535 so they could sit and watch netflix while killing things, now that they have to stick a beacon to their target or actively watch their HP to throw out that Lightâs Embrace itâs too hard for them.
That and theyâre wearing light or medium armor which is beyond hilarious and likely do not use their secondary weapon at all which I mean⌠Just equip a Hatchet and go bonkers. Done job.
PvE with life staff is relaxing at the moment, I donât understand how you have troubles with lvl 45 wolves. I rarely have problems fighting mobs even with 5-10+ levels on me because I just out heal them
