So I tried to create my character with the name ‘chunkypapa’ and it shows ‘This name cannot be used’, instead of ‘This name is in use’. I suppose it means my IGN is not allowed instead of taken?
I also tried different variations like ‘chunkypepe’ ‘chunkypa’ ‘papachunky’ all with the same issue. I am wondering if 1) it is actually banned instead of taken and 2) if it is banned, why?
I believe that they are using some form of auto checking for offensive words in the in-game-chat and it may be that the same system is used with names. I noticed in the Beta that the word checker was checking against multiple languages. That may be the problem you are having. Some portion of your name may be categorized as offensive.
This is my opinion and not 100% certain.
