After watching populations drop, we can see how the PVP territory control affects everyone. I know it was intended to push focus to PVP and player control, but we’ve seen time and time again that the majority of the population of 95% of MMOs is PVE.
That being said, the loss of players generally makes factions unable to defend against invasion, unable to upkeep crafting stations and you as a player cant’ craft or can’t afford to craft. I know they’ve made DEV posts of how to make gold, but it’s just a poor system that makes a small portion of the players participating in PVP affect the mass (of whats left) of PVE players.
Why should I fight when our faction can’t afford upgrades? Why is my faction begging for donations in chat? What does PVP so detrimental to the PVE players, who again, make up the most of your player base?
Want PVP, maybe some of the mentioning upcoming changes will help, but I, as well as my fellow guildies all believe the territory control PVP is something that needs to be totally removed or re-tooled in a way where is doesn’t chase your player base away, because that is what it’s doing, among other issues.
I believe that removing this, or making it less horrific to under-populated player bases, will make the game and more enjoyable experience for the majority of the player base. It’s an unnecessary part of the game. There are other ways to get people to PVP, but not this system.
Also, server merges are needed quickly. I know the DEVs have posted on this, but the longer the wait, the quicker the death of the player base. Just my two cents, or three.
