My reasons to think why player count does NOT go up anymore

First of all, I’d like to say this is just MY opinion, and MY preferences in terms of RPG games. People have their own opinions and reasons that hooks them into games, and I just felt like sharing my opinion here, and maybe it is helpful somehow to make the game see more people and less bots once again.

Amazon have brought a lot of Improvements to New World since the preview, QoL changes, Arena, Outpost Rush, etc… But why people don’t feel like playing it anymore?

Like what I said since the game’s preview until the time I quit with almost 2k hours, and I will try to feed this back for the last time;

1- Amazon needs to place GMs in the game, to control the BOTs activity.

2- Amazon needs to remove 90% of the boring quests the game has, and stop making more quests and boring daily quests systems within every patch or new content they bring.

3- Start developing more and more Open world Events, so people have more options of Combats events to do with their friends. Like the corruption portals, things for people to engage on open world that is not opening chests.

4- Remove watermark(expertise), remove gypsum, remove umbral, all these boring itemization systems… Make the game legendary items feel special to find, and not so easy that it becomes boring.

If Amazon was to release an expansion to New World, where they would go back to the roots… go back to what it looked like on Preview… the game would be a lot more fun. Focusing 99% on the combat experience of the user and not annoying quests. Having that experience with all the improvements you guys have done, like Arena, outpost rush, the otimizations, the QoL improvements and all the good things you have done.

I really feel that grinding for a GG gear is what keeps aRPG players grinding for thousands of hours, and if you guys make that super ultra easy like it became, theres no point on doing anything after sometime.

If we have a new patch, that brings the Gear score up by like 200points (easy way to make everyone grind all again) and the gear was full RNG, without expertise, without umbral, without gypsum, only RNG… For example: on endgame dungeons the gear can roll from 900-1000 being 1000 the legendary. And that be RNG based. No Expertise. That would be a LOT more fun to grind to fully geared characters. And would make people that just started playing the game have the same shot of finding a GG legendary from a person that played for thousands of hours. Having RNG based itemization is fun… and makes people excited about grinding for lots of hours.

But hey, thats just my point of view and what I feel about the RPG games I play and why I play them for thousands of hours and get hooked to them.

This is the core problem. Old school mentality within a modern gamer era. I’ve been playing online games since 1993. RPGs much longer. You are expecting modern gamers to accept nostalgia and old school ways. And the gaming population’s majority are modern gamers.

As many said, time is valuable. And it is the primary currency consumers use within the gaming industry. Not too little, not too much.

Presently the grind fron lvl 1 to GS 625 has cut down to 90ish hours of actual game play (/played FSS). In many gamer’s eyes, that is still not good enough. Especially when you are in a progressive world where things must change to keep progressing.

Why do you think so many MMORPGs has catch up mechanics? You also have GW1 showing you proof that it is not really about a hard grind. You then have the NW community creating solutions to fight the WM grind while in the end of Alpha 3. Why do you think WTs were made? To shorten the WM grind.

You do not know the community as well as you thought. You also based some opinions on false assumptions.
