My response to dev about watermark

Everything that is under 600gs that you’ve been investing expensive materials farmed until now, with the extremely difficult rolling system is gonna turn to trash.

Make things upgradable from 590 please. Rolling a decent piece of gear 590 is already hard and requires a lot grinding.

Please make 590 Upgradable. We are not all sitting on 600GS owning WW or EF and Throwing our Millions net gold profit into Crafting.

And please, consider nerfing thoose gains. It’s absurd, actually absurd and don’t tell me “Win the territory in war”.
You know what happens with millions invested in gear.
And if you really care about your player, put in a little effort in some QoL.
We really need a CD reset timer, a Gear manager (since mutation require specific elemental resistance), and it would be fun to see the % spent on territory boons…
Before adding content, please, fix the game. Running new content is not always the solution. It makes happy only the super heavy hardcore player that will left however once they pushed their no-existant life in it , consuming it in 2 weeks and crying for more.

And a last thing, please Ban BOT. I’ve reported the same guy since lvl 22. Still fish botting, same spot, H24.
And in the very end, I personally love this game but, damn, how can it be serious when we still have weapon becoming Pork Ribs, or Fiber, or Water?

i never said it was new content i said its already more content than pvp is getting at the moment. pvp is mucj more broken at the moment that any pve content. atleast you van do an expedition might be the same one but. good luck doing a war or opr… you want more content like everyone does… how bout fixing what is already there first…

Few thoughts from me:

  • Have gear score at 520 when doing PvP. If you have higher GS, it will get downgraded to 520 when doing PvP. This way eg. faction top tier armor stays relevant to buy.
  • Make the faction reputation and coin scale by your level, so there is incentive to do faction quests in lower lvl areas.
  • Delete the keys to dungeons and come up with some kind of cooldown mechanic for the reason you want to time gate those (You want to prevent botting or people getting gear too fast?).

Look up tips for PvP from Destiny 2. In there the power caps at certain level to make it level playfield for everyone and skill becomes stronger factor.

I think the GS pump from 600 to 625 would not be tought to swallow if the dungeons were not time gated so badly.

Invasion type content - repel more invaders from other parts - we had the Varangian’s arrive get some more and a less time scheduled form to deal with these like OPR

Dungeons of course

Battles - War versions not for territory again queue not time scheduled

PVP
Player bounty (players opt in to be a target group and hunt group opt ins hunt them) for full loot - no other reward so kill trading no bonus

Sandbox

Ships (and crafting skills for these) once story enlarges the world so we can explore coast/isles battle on these if want - all land based old fashioned for 2022

I believe you and understand that it’s why I don’t partake in almost any of the pvp content, it’s just bad and boring to me honestly.

OPR is just like a 3rd person match of LoL mixed in with a little cod… stand on point fight to control points with spawn mobs to help defend stuff…

War I have not done as I said it’s basically walled off to players that don’t have the best of gear or don’t want to join a discord server… got to love that elitism amongst the player base… idk maybe as more zones are added less of this will happen and lower zones will flip more often…

Open world pvp is basically dead, and thats because of the flagging system and the lack of other systems to control players…

they should have just left the game full loot and full pvp… and had some kind of system in place like a bounties system and a criminal rank system… one to control constant griefing of players, one to control players in like towns… something ya feel me…

but hey I would have npc’s that would hire players for jobs both to give the player gold, but also to make a better open world pvp/harvesting system for players…

if players wanted to harvest they could throw on the correct gear go to NPC get a job and go harvest… they keep so much of the mats give so much to NPC and get some gold…

Players could still be killed but this would make the other player a criminal, and other players would be rewarded for killing that player… boom better open world pvp…

I also would add caravans that players in different factions could protect or attack. if they take the defending team the attacking team collects gold and gear and mats…

if the players defend the caravan they get lots of gold.

you could make this part of the transfer of player’s items between zones, but honestly, they broke that with the changes to the trading post… I also would have undone that change…

also, OPR should have different maps per zone… dungeons should have different paths once you turn up the difficulty also should have different mobs… and more… Also why no traps…

I am sure there are other things on the pvp side that I would change or add but yeah what we have right now is just bad… even with small changes and fixes its just going to be meh…

There is should be a pvp mode that allowed players to practise for wars, something like capture the flag, or something similar to a war but in a smaller scale like 20v20 this doesnt neccesarily need to be a competitive mode, you can add that later if it’s something pvp players want.

PvP. I would like to see the introduction of arenas. Now, this may risk splitting the PvP-community and result in, for example, Outpost Rush queues going up. This, in turn, may mean having to make it so the queueing system puts players from an entire World Set together rather than draw from just a single World. I am not sure how people feel about such a feature, though.

I do not care about GS or watermarks or anything of the kind. I simply want to compete against other players :smiley: If the combat design / system is good (I believe New World has great potential) and AGS continues to introduce some new weapons and tweaks the meta every so often, then I’m happy. That is all the end-game content I need. Does this mean I only want to see new PvP content being added to the game? Not at all! Those players who like to PvE need high-quality content, too! But, grinding gear in most MMOs is painful enough as it is, and New World actually did a good job making it not as painful as most other MMOs. So, please do not make it so PvPers have less options than PvE players to acquire top-tier equipment.

I don’t think arenas are good idea. It will be very hard to balance those as currently there are specs that can easily 1v5.

I think more large scale pvp battles are the right direction for New World.

you can got rare luckdrops for gips and drops over 590 to set watermark higher as 590.

Fix basic issues. Improve OPR watermark increases. Some sort of weapon balance. Some sort of armor balance.

Stop shafting your pvp community.

If you farmed OPR and played pvp theres NO way you achieved max watermark. This update is driving away these players.

And why are some still marked? Because they still can’t find what they need. But believe me that when they find it (like many others, including me) they will never mark again.

AGS is doing fine listening to the community, but don’t be knee jerky. The gypsum system was just put in place and now the GS is being increased. Let that settle before another crafting change to gear. I really like the effort going into Pve end game content, but the 1x1, 3x3, and 5x5 arenas sound great as well. But, first and foremost all I want… please get rid of the BOTS.

if your pvp.on you should want to fight that is the whole point of pvp… if you are only using it for the boost you are part of the probleme and definetly one of those flag off type… doesnt make me have an issue with my head or crazy thats the whole point of being flagged for pvp…d its to fight… how does that make me stupid… please explain ? cause you make absolutely no sense.

never mark again if you dont want to… the fact you think flagging for pvp should be so you can get a 10% luck increase and not get killed is the single dumbest thing i have read on here so far… you want all the benefits and non of the negatives or risk factor. dont turn on if you get mad cause people want to kill you if you are pvp on.

that makes no sense when you are talking about a literal game and translating that to rape… wtf is wrong with you… it is not at all the same thing. the fact that i read that makes me and everyone else dumber to have read that. flag pvp off if you dont want to get attacked or dont flag in on at all. but to flag it on and get the boosts then cry when someone tries to kill you on a game who is flagged pvp on is stupid then saying the person actually playing the game for fun who wants to fight hence pvp on… is the issue here makes no sense what so ever. you just want free shit thrown at you without any risk its plain and simple.
