ALL the overwolf minimap show the node location in a SPECULATIVE WAY from https://www.newworld-map.com (we DON’T KNOW if the resource will still be there, we just know that IT CAN APPEAR HERE because a player indicated that he saw one here) and it’s indicated in their description FROM THE BEGINNING. The data come from a player community and added MANUALLY, there are even some mistakes, here : https://www.newworld-map.com.

Kay NWD indicates that if it pulls more than your location, it’s not okey. So what “pull” mean ?
With the comment from Rasboi and the one from Kay I think pull mean that “not okey minimaps” are the ones that pull ressource location from game data (they know if the ressource has been taken or not and know the respawn cooldown) they are website that pull this data from the game too. So when she say “websites” I think they talk about this ones.
Cause they can’t prohibit player comunity like https://www.newworld-map.com like they can’t prohibit an excel document that I use or share to help me or other in the game.
so please just make it clear that maps using player community resources, so speculative resources(like https://www.newworld-map.com) so all the OVERWOLF minimap are allowed.
my suggestion:
If what Rasboi state is true: say the sentence “player community ressources” and allow it.
If it’s just that Rasboi was misinformed: just allow minimap with player community ressources “on the minimap”.
We can already see the resources by opening the site https://www.newworld-map.com and this website is a community, it’s like me telling a friend “hey there can be iron ore here here here” when i’m with him or with a screen sharing. It’s not cheat it’s helping each other. With dual or more monitor we can have the website and our game at the same time, it’s practically the same thing, and anyone can go to this site or ask a friend for help. Once again this is not cheating, it is helping each other, and if everyone has access to this mutual assistance it is not an advantage. It’s like mutual aid forums indicating where resources are dropped from what monster and from where, everyone goes to these forums.
I have another point for this (I’m talking only for the 3 overwolf minimap that use speculative location added manually by players with https://www.newworld-map.com)
As I said before, dual monitor players can already just use https://www.newworld-map.com and be more competitive because they know all the good spot thanks to a community that pinpoint them manually and they just have to turn the head a little to know everything in real time (like a minimap).
So, player with only one monitor, not the old one that know every route by heart (see my test below), need a minimap using the website https://www.newworld-map.com to be competitive.
But that’s not all !! I did a test with a friend.
And we went to an area that I know by heart, because I have a good memory and I have mined in that area a lot of times. My friend had only come once. The test was to go from iron ore to iron ore as fast as possible throughout the area with the same route that I gave him. Me without the minimap and him with (minimap from overwolf: NWMM).
As a result, I was FASTER than him.
EXPLANATION:
he looked too often at the minimap which made him lose a few seconds.
He wasn’t looking too much at the radar so sometimes he would go to the location of the ore, only to find it had already been taken by someone. While I with the radar and looking from afar (because minerals can be seen from afar) I knew when one ore was taken and I could move on to the next without wasting time.
So what’s my point ?
I think minimap from overwolf, that pinpoint node ressources manually by players, so in a speculative way, is good for new players to be more competitive against old ones, or those with better memories than them.
If with only the use of use of radar, effort, and good memory I’m better, I think it’s good to allow the overwolf minimap (again I’m talking only for them).
So quality of life ?
it’s like those who take mechanical keyboards to try to be a little more competitive, or those who have a double screen etc … it seems to be an advantage but in fact in some cases it slows us down, it can on the other hand be useful to the elderly to be competitive against young people.
So my suggestion again for this feedback: like the first post it’s to allow minimap using player community ressources like the 3 maps from overwolf using https://www.newworld-map.com
