Need help with my fps issues

There is something wrong somewhere. I hope maby someone can help me with this issue.

So my spec is AMD 5900x, 32gb gskill ram, 3080Ti on a 4k 144hz LG screen. Win11 OS.
Drivers, Os and the AMD issue is fixed, and up to date.

The issue i face, is everytime i log into a city, everything of fps is fine. I can have ultra settings and still manage about 60-87fps in town. Then i port to another place and back, i get around 29-35 fps at same place, even struggle in th open world.

Then the whole game is verry unstable on the fps for some reason. I dont understand the issue here. There is days, there are no problems at all. Then its days where game run verry poor. Even i dont change anything.

I also deleted the game, and reinstalled it. Then it was working like a boss for a few days, now its down to verry poor performance again. It struggle on meduim settings even.

I have notice if i delete the user settings in the document games files, the games runs fine again when i launch it after. What is causing this? Also if i have so much up as chrome, the game drops like 30-40 fps. I dont see the game use much cpu power either. Its around 22%.

I have been working with computers for over 15 years, but i dont see where the issue here is. Its like its building up like memory leakage, or is it a cache issue?

Took a note that the game dont like the windows scaling, so i run that in non scaled. That works from time to time, or better.

The Nvidia profile is set to performance and all that. In case someone is going to comment on that. No overlay etc.

Its just a issue in game it seems. Or, something bottleneck my game in a way.

So i had the game in 4k 60 fps, then i changed it to windowed, back to fullscreen… Then game could not go back into fullscreen… I changed the game to 1440p. then i did go into fullscreen. when i change back my resolution to 4k… i gain 30 fps again. so now im up from 60 fps to 90 fps??? Something is broken

have you tried setting your framerate to cap of 60 ?

Yes ofc. That does not change that the game run on 30 fps, its a different issue. I start to suspect the options might be broken in some way. Everytime i delete the settings from the document games folder, the game works. If i stay in town after i log in, the game works fine. When i move out of town and in again, the game breaks. If i change resolution from 4k to 2k and over to 4k, the game works again.

Same issue. I’ve checked every setting possible and ensured my rtx2060 super is optimized. I’ve verified the game files are in good shape and followed every YouTube video I could to try to solve this.

I previously ran the game no problem at 60 fps (capped) and now can’t get over 11 fps. The game is unplayable with these frame rates and I’m at a loss.

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience that you are going through, as you stated in the description of your issue, you are using Windows 11, I recommend that you “downgrade” to Windows 10 since it is the only supported OS of New World, here is a link to the New World requirements.

Thanks for understanding! Take Care!

FYI, I’m using Windows 10 but was able to resolve my issue on my own. I was using the Citrix Workspace desktop application for work and noticed it had a display driver installed when I was doing my troubleshooting. As a last ditch effort, I uninstalled the application and when I logged back in my frame rates were back to normal.

So there’s something going on with how either Steam or New World interacts with the Citrix Workspace application that prevents your current GPU drivers from being used or something.

Perfect!

Thanks for letting me know how you fixed it, maybe Citrix was taking the majority of your GPU resources?

I’m not the OP and I think he’s using Win11. I had checked my resources and it wasn’t under any massive load that I could see. I honestly think it was trying to use Citrix to push the game rather than my RTX 2060 Super card. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

I’m no pro or anything but I do know that Citrix Workspace was the culprit in my specific case. I only posted here cuz the OP seemed to have a similar issue as me.

I hope he can get his fixed too <3
