Need some advice on gear/playing

For sure. I probably misunderstood your initial question but yeah you can keep your good gear and get expertise bumps.

If I had to guess AGS didn’t update correctly and the gear is bugged. As I understood the patch notes, it’ was supposed to REDUCE your stats on gear that was not at that gear score. Meaning if you had a piece of gear at 600 but that slot is only 540, then all the perks on that gear would be reduced, the gear score would be reduced as well. That is NOT the case on all the gear I have equipped. none of my stats are reduced per slot though my overall expertise is 580 at the moment.

I think it’s just broken in our favor but who knows with AGS.

Oh for sure. I’m worried it’s a bug, but I am trying to be optimistic and tell myself it’s AGS being nice to those of us who had it pre-patch - i check every time I log in to see if my GS on existing gear has been slashed down to an avg between it and my expertise, so far so good - however some armor I crafted did nerf when it was in my inventory and when I equipped it, with the little red slash - for now I remain 596 but I am sure that will be “fixed” in a future patch

I pretty much never PVP but you’ll pry the VG from my cold dead hands. Nothing compares to it for farming hides. Boars have nightmares about my VG.

Y like I said

If you buy a 600 gear score item from trading post with a expertise of 500 on that specific item it should be reduced down to 550, about half, if you craft anything yourself it will ignore the down scaling.
I would still recommend doing gensis and larzsus normal dungeon’s as their better at giving expertise, compared to open world elite chests when comparing time investment.

I see what you’re saying. Long story short, expertise bumps also bump your gear?

For example. 555 GS across the board with 555 average expertise.
You run a Genesis. Your average expertise goes to 558, let’s just on all 10 slots. So all the gear you had equipped goes to 558?

Tbh, just get 200 armoring which isn’t bad at all, and craft the now cheaper voidbent. Then use umbrals to upgrade voidbent up passed 600 and run expeditions for drops. M1’s are easy, I did then from 580 GS and up. After patch, run OPR to get umbrals here and there and use BoP items from expeditions while levelling expertise.

It may take you around 20k to get 200 armoring but if you sell orb slots, you can have 20k in no time. Btw, out buy orders up for the dynasty replica equipment. Tier 4 that gives as much exp as crafting tier 5 and pretty cheap.

Anything crafted or bought before the January patch was not reduced. Anything after is reduced 50% in between gear score and expertise. So 600 - 580 would act as a 590. Unless you craft it yourself. I believe if you craft it yourself you will see no decrease.

+100 internets !

Ahh ok that makes sense. Thank you.

You can run normal Gen and Laz with your normal gear. The cost for normal runs is less than you make from the bosses now. Expertise goes up pretty quick in these dungeons.

I already have 200 armoring. This does not matter, if I craft armor over my expertise, it is nerfed.

Unless it has changed, the few items I have crafted so far in the 550-560 range were nerfed once in my inventory to the halfway point between my expertise and their crafted gear score :frowning:

200 Armoring has never felt more useless lol.

I thought there was no expertise drop if YOU crafted it. Not your friend.

I have crafted 3 gauntlets and all 3 have been nerfed to the avg between expertise and GS. Was this fixed in the last 4-5 days?

Weird I thought I read that crafted would not change if your crafted it yourself. Ill look and see if I can find it.

If this is the case, it is extremely new, as I crafted 3 gauntlets in the 550-560 range on Sunday or Monday and all three nerfed to the midpoint just like items bought off the TP.

If now all of a sudden that has changed, then it’s welcome news, but it was absolutely not the case as recently as this past weekend. These were also the holiday event blueprints however - as far as I am aware they shouldn’t be treated any differently in this case, but maybe it is another new and exciting bug?

It’s supposed to be like that from the patch that introduced the final expertise degrading system.

If it’s not like then you need report a bug.

This is the way it is supposed to work…

If it isn’t working that way then bug report it

Report your bug. Lol. Just for clarification. YOU need to craft it. Not your buddy.
