Nereid last boss of barnacles is Angry hearth, srly?

Hello,

Why the the last boss of an “Lost” expédition is a “Angry Hearth” ?

I’d like to know what motivations made you go that way

Everyone on the PTR was wondering their motive on this,
if there was any lore or some other reason.
We never got a answer.

Personally I think it’s fine, a bit tedious right now if you want to mid max.
But once gear loadouts are being added it’s auto walk 1 press on the button and geared up instantly.

It’s supposed to throw people off. It’s angry earth, but it’s weakness is Ice (30%) and strike (20%). Like a forgotten species of angry earth. Maybe hinting lost and angry earth are somehow related. I’d recommend having lost, angry earth and beast bane trophies for mutated versions of this dungeon. Gators are labeled as beast and the tendrils are angry earth as well. I thought it was gonna be lost myself due to the similarities to the siren queen.

LORE.

Can’t remember what their relation was but I think Admiral BP got enticed by the Siren Queen, Nereid.

Honestly not really a big deal, they have the same weakness as Lost and they add another layer of challenge (although pretty easy).

you have to change stuff (angry earth ward) and weapon (angry earth bane) just for the last boss … it’s not very friendly for casual players

I just hate it.
Instead of doing normal dmg with Fs u deal 40% less
And 70% less in total if it was normal angry earth

Very strange indeed. Should I expect to bring angry earth set on m+ ? how about m10?

probably yeah

I would swap ward gear atleast before the last boss fight in mutation+. I know this boss does a great deal of lightning dmg with lightning bolts and spears, and thrust dmg with her melee. but i havent been able to find out what dmg the cyclones and her water pellets do, i dont want to assume its ice or lightning dmg (cause water doesnt exist) without actually knowing. However would recommend slotting a topaz in for that fight regardless of the mutation. Before the gators you should have time to swap to a beast bane thrust weapon if you’re really dmg hungry to speed throught that part but your lost gear should be sufficient for up until nereid.

If it’s Angry earth than why Strike damage is it’s weakness?

Looks like they have the Nature symbol when you take dmg.

Because it has a special set of resistance and weaknesses. It’s still angry earth

Given how much gear everyone has it’s not that hard to bring a second set of stuff and change real quick before last boss. It’s a fun challenge. For hammer I have one with a nature gem and another with ice gem and just switch out at last boss. You can do a similar thing for other weapons.

Armor will be a little more of a pain on mutations. Regular you don’t really need any gems just leave whatever u already had in if u don’t want to burn the gems.

i just tried using angry earth coatings vs lost coatings, guess what…lost coatings won

Because the Devs have brain damage!

It’s angry earth for wards; it’s lost for damage resistances.

It’s a mess.
WH does the most damage with Ice, but using angry earth ward shows you the diminished damage.
