but if you play light armor with a GA you still can’t catch them so what’s your thought process there?
Great axe and what as the other weapon? you should be able to catch somebody with light armor and great axe just because once you get in range you should get the 30% perma speed increase which is faster than anything else in the game.
Remember you are fighting something at range that is a build around having more stam than you (dex). So you need to make a build that can actually catch them like my blunderbus\great axe build.
Dex literally has a extra dodge roll and all dex weapons revolve around mobility and single target CC.
What do you think on top of grit and huge aoe dps, CC and the ability to brawl strength also needs as much stam as dex and deserves mobility like dex? My whole argument is you cant expect to beat a build that is a counter to your build
Fleche needs to have homing and stop when it hits an enemy.
Riposte should be a normal stun and not a reactionary immunity.
Also increase tracking on light attacks for rapier and remove the double swipe self-root/self-CC that the middle swipes are currently.
I dunno, I play GA/WH, in heavy even because i am low tier doo doo, but i found that given enough time and practice of getting my teeth beat in outside of WW, i can eventually learn to counter/kill just about anyone given enough time.
bow/spear and bow/rapier were one of the worst for me for the longest until i let our company bowmaster beat me to death for a few hours. Now i have very little trouble with these two combinations unless they are pretty skilled.
Player skill and mistakes they and you both make have a very huge impact.
I too once thought these were absolutely broken, but now they are predictable.
I agree to all of this. Especially number 3. However riposte would be basically never used if this was the case. Its a reactive stun too easy to dodge its CD is longer than all other weapon stuns, its a small cone unlike other weapons and it does no damage. Even at the moment riposte is useless against good players and is only used for the immunity.
You would need to give it rend/damage or something or else it would be a dead skill. As it would be technically the worse CC in the game “No damage, Reactive, long CD, no debuffs, small stun range frontal cone”
I find bloodlust kind of flukey
15% damage and 20% movement speed, pretty crazy to me. That is like a 2 good weapon perks baseline. Its not as strong as it use to be, but i think that was warranted nerf.
Bro wdym ppl abuse this skill to keep distance? The skill is literally made to be used to keep distance or in some situation agressive to chase someone. U seriosly should chill out, do u want every melee weapon to be a rooted dummy that u can hit for free?

I would get more value out of a stun that I can press when I need it for kill pressure instead of some defensive immunity that only helps me survive.
The problem with these kinds of arguments is that you are trying to complain that something is good in the area it specializes. Yeah, rapier + light armor users are extremely hard to catch. However, it’s mostly the only thing they are good at; running away and being annoying. When it comes to achieving the objective, they are extremely lackluster.
Let’s apply the same logic in other areas:
If we put all players in med/heavy armor (each team provided with healers) and give them only melee weapons to duke it out, all other weapons will severely underperform in clump fights or huge zergs against GA/WA by a huge margin. Therefore, we should nerf GA/WA because they are just too darn good in that area. Even better, light users cannot wipe out a med/heavy GA/WA zerg. Med/Heavy too strong. Nerf med/heavy!!!

And your right AGS needs to get rid of both those rapier abilities or re work them.
Rapier is clearly a problem if the majority of people are carrying a Rapier as a secondary weapon to just escape and evade damage and death in PvP.

Thats why OPR and war and arena are filled with them. They all NEVER die! All these modes just stalemate! /sarcasm
I have put 1k hours into bow rapier and its definitely immortal.
Roll roll, evade, roll roll. Shirking energy. Roll. riposte. fleche. evade shot. stam recovery on amulet. Get all my rolls back.
Rinse and repeat. Space can be made so easily. Idk what to do about it because Itd be a shame if dex got nerfed into the ground again. Maybe start nerfing the distance covered by these moves? Buff in other areas to compensate? its a tough one.
Never worth chasing a rapier player.
I agree completely nerfing it would destroy a lot of builds right now.
One of the biggest issues in my opinion isn’t the distance (maybe in OPR) but the fact you can recover your stamina during the riposte window.
If they removed the stamina boost from evade and stopped Stamina regen during riposte I think it would be in a much better place.

Yeah and to top it off I have nimble during all these regen windows, so its even worse lol.
Seems pretty reasonable to me to not get stam back during riposte. Thats an easy start. evade is an option too.

I said it in another post. What they need to do is give people a stick and clothes when entering OPR. That’s it. Everyone on the exact same level. Then the calls for nerfs would stop. The thing that sux is they balance the entire game around what happens in OPR.
I mean you are comparing a passive perk to a ability. You dont lose abilities to get bloodthirst.
Great axe has a great, great AOE cleave damage, 180 damage cone, great DPS compared to other weapons because of there passives, a worm hole group utility and you think they also need a stun. I dont know about that. If they gave great axe a stun i think the already over populated great axe community would hit its peak again.
