PVP is a unbalanced nightmare, you’re not gonna fix it by nerfing things that don’t need nerfing.
The only way to fix it is to separate it entirely from PVE.
If only I could force all the AGS employees back in time to Firefall and their attempt at PVP inside a PVE game, it never worked and they eventually had to remove PVP entirely because there was no way to balance it.
I’m mostly being a bit cheeky because I keep reading these threads that effectively say “It’s so unfair that Healers can’t kill me and I can’t kill them. BOO! Nerf Healing!”.
Pure Fire/Ice Mage in light armor + 1 Healer vs Pure Rapier/Musket DPS in Heavy amor.
Mage should win, because 2v1 and the Healer should be able to mitigate the DPS against the Mage.
If this is true (as I assert it should be)
Then Healer vs any other DPS 1v1 should mean Healer is effectively unkillable in any reasonable period of time.
I agree with your comments on balance. In general, 1v1 fights of equally skilled players should be fairly close to impossible for either player to win.
Skill, intelligent use of mechanics (like Heal/DPS/CC), and Teamwork are things that make PvP entertaining and challenging. The people that want 1v1 PvP to be anything other than an extremely difficult test of skill and game mechanic knowledge are missing the point entirely.
DPS needs to be nerfed if they think they can 1v1 everything and expect anything they touch to roll over and die.
On second thought. I’ll just let myself get roflstomped when a dps rolls up on me as a healer and just pretend I’m a dummy target (since that’s what they expect). Just lay on the ground and let yourself die, because as a healer, that’s what you’re expected to do.
Every other day we see a cluster of these posts where healers assemble to put forth their worries I like it. But I disagree with you. I don’t mind an healer being hard to kill. As long as it is because he is a good player. Not simply because he weilds life staff. And the sad part is. Most healers suck. And only leave trough the fights because of how busted self healing is.
I have walked to an healer and started smacking him and he never even tried to reposition. And still he lived for more than he should. Clueless players should be punished.
If you are indeed a good player and you are aware of you surroundings, you know where to run to, you can communicate with your team and ask for backup and don’t expose yourself too much you will obviously live longer and need less self healing.
All in all. Don’t nerf healers to the ground. But make it so bad players die.

tbh, as a healer, I could never kill a dps, they can always just easily run away. While I must keep heal myself to avoid the death. This is BS. Healer needs a boost on its dps skills, at least 10x it’s current dmg.
100% agree, and I would also suggest the extend the cooldown on Health Potions to at least 1 minute. Health Potions are meant to be an “oh shit” button of last resort, not main source of healing.
yes, they need to fix this. weapons should have more slows, everyone can run way… very annoying. the light dodge roll is way too strong too, it offers way too much mobility and survivability.
For the record I play a DPS, not a healer. I am simply a realist and see where the balance is truly lacking. And I find it extremely annoying to see three new posts a day, made by the very same people screaming “nerf teh healerz”.

Yes survavibility of dps is a bit to hight.
In pvp if a player do a bad move he should be instant punish and kill in large scale battle, but even if 3 dps focus him he can easily escape and go back on his raid.
(But I recommand to decrease the Time to kill for every one to keep the game balanced
As AGS nerfed aoe (cannot stack aoe anymore) FFA is currently better than team play and it’s sad (we can thank for non pvp ppl for that)
Id agree with this when it comes to medium and heavy armor, however dps in light should have more DPS, aswell as healers in heavy should have reduced healing and healers in light increased healing…
It is really frustrating to play well in light and still not be able to kill a healer legit standing AFK doing nothing… heavy gear needs to get a lower % dmg and healing output or else this game is going nowhere in PVP… its way 2 simple as a dps to just pick up heavy and wack autoattacks into a pack of players and never die…
