You probably don’t play the game because currently mages are the least playable and IG/FS no longer exists. People started playing with muskets after the recent weakening of the mag
Yea I agree with the nerfs but the real problem is we are being forced into GA because of its gap closers. Melee in general is in a horrible spot for chasing
You must be joking. Running away from GA player is almost impossible. Only rapier and fire mag can do that.
The reason you see so many GA is because of its gap closing. They need to balance all melee to equally close gaps or close to so that there’s a variety
Sword has stun, knockback, leap. I use those all the time to make some distance.
Shield Bash is worse than Gravity Well.
Leaping Strike is worse than Charge.
Shield Rush is worse than Reap. In my opinion Shield Rush is no mobility Skill.
shield rush is very short distance and long animation. you wont really catch anyone with it. You only hit with it if enemy is facing you like 1-2m away.
leaping strike is decent, but still worse than charge.
shield bash is nice, but stun is kinda bad because enemies get out of stun after any hit. Its actually more like SLEEP. Gravity well wins here. Also its quite big aoe and ranged. Deals nice damage too.
though i dislike GA. its op, but i dont use it because it doesnt feel good to use to me.For those that cry about nerf… If you cry about that lunge nerf on GA. You can still even catch people with sword, hammer, rapier, spear or even hatchet… GA still has more lunge range than any of those weapons + charge + gravity well, reap and bloodlust… what are you moaning. you are just LMB warrior who dont know how to play. How come others can catch people if you cant with best mobility/cc weapon in game.
also those that say to tune up every melee weapon to same level as old GA… well you know what. that would make every ranged weapon bad in pvp because they cant escape anyway then. You just combo GA with some other weapon and you have unlimited lunge with all those cc’s and mobility abilities.
Wow, I’m actually shocked someone here thinks the Sword is just as strong as a Gaxe. Holy crap.
-Shield Bash has a very short engagement range, and has god awful tracking, meaning even if you get close enough, there’s a very tiny time frame the shield bash animation locks onto the target, but afterwards, it goes straight towards the direction through the entirety of the animation. What does this mean? Simply put: It can be dodged, pretty easily as well. This means the ability is clunky, has a very limited ‘Arc of Effect’ (badumtst) that’s only in the front of the user, and the stun only lasts as long as the target doesn’t get damaged (which btw, isn’t a stun, it’s a SLEEP/DAZE spell), while the cooldown is longer than other stuns. It gives, at best, a 3.6 window of breathing room for the shield user to plan/get away, and that’s ONLY if the bash lands.
Knockback? the Shield Rush knockback is barely noticeable. It’s more like a stagger, if anything else, considering the movement of the person is under 1 meter of effect when hit, looks like 0.5 or even less. A more reliable knockback is relying on shield bash with the repulsing perk, which only grants 100% I believe at max, which pretty terrible, considering the distance it has at base being far worse than Clear out of the warhammer. This one also has the same tracking situation as Shield bash, and has a wind up animation. Your chances of hitting people with this is extremely small, it only increases when they’re gung-ho on you, or…well…stunned. HAH!
Are you agreeing or disagreeing? X being better than Y doesn’t make Y useless.
You must be confusing something. I never said SnS is better than GA (in fact I use both).
You say that SnS can’t charge out of the fight. It can, with leap. Leap is also more forgiving if there are obstacles in your path, as it usually goes past them rather than stopping the leap altogether, like Charge does. You can also stun the enemy (3s) and walk away. I use both of those abilities ALL THE TIME for that purpose, therefore you’re simply wrong. About knockback, you may be right, as I don’t use it.
U r drunk, bow is clunky and need adjustment
You are not reading what I wrote. I didn’t say “better”, I said “Strong as”, which it clearly isn’t.
I also didn’t say SnS can’t charge out of a fight, where are you getting this out of my message? I was clearly talking about Shield Bash and Shield Rush, and again, the 3 second stun means nothing in New World in terms of combat effectiveness, just because of the fact that as soon as someone gets damaged, the spell is broken. It’s a terrible usage, with the only effect being that you use it to buy yourself time for breathing, going for a backstab, or simply running away.
EDIT: Overall, for a long cooldown (this thing has a much longer cooldown than Shockwave, mind you, with the only tradeoff being 1 second extra duration vs a 4 meter radius, unblockable AoE), clunky, close range, noticeable spell, it’s potential is pitiful, defense wise and offense wise. Now if only it was a hard stun, then it would be perfectly reasonable for the numerous negatives it has.
You must be imagining some PvP scenario where it’s not a 1v1 and your team is constantly making things harder for you. I wouldn’t base weapon’s effectiveness on such scenarios. The 3 second stun is everything.
Before any ones complains about range, they should list whether they’re light/med/heavy armor. If you’re getting whacked by ranged while in light armor…
even in a 1v1 situation, as I explained before, it’s not that amazing, it’s an improvement vs the war scenario, but it’s not much. The only options here you have:
-Breathing room to allow you to buy time in healing and stamina regen.
-Backstab
-running away.
Again, the lack of a hard stun makes this skill pretty bad vs any other spell with the same ‘stun’ effect.
moment you started with that i could feel a facepalm approaching…
for starters the great axe is still among the top melee weapons but it is just no-longer extremely overpowered to the point where it makes all other melee weapons except hammer obsolete.
the nerf was rather minor, it literally had auto aim…
Mages know how to use skill. The ga left click spam to stick on an enemy takes 0. Legit if you can’t fight a mage with the op ga/h you are kinda bad just saying
good maybe OPR will stop being cancer COD lobby
In most circumstances Y is useless because X is better. Ofcourse. Why would you choose Y if it is weaker. Not competitive.
lol, yes, that says everything you need to know about competitiveness…
into the ground?? Its still strong dont cry bcs range is good now
