Because you can shoot people across map with the musket but you cannot with the BB.
I’m pretty sure if they reduced the range of the musket to a certain point most people wouldn’t mind that the weapon is hitscan.
Regardless, it looks like they are change the weapon, so it doesn’t matter at this point.
I did try a 250 dex/150 intel/100 con medium armor musket the their day. It probably had comparable survivablility to a 200 con light armor build. Anyway, I had several +30 kill games. It was fine.
You saying bb is hit scan lmao your out of pocket for that one. Hit scan also means when you have unlimited range. Bb does not have unlimited range.

And that’s why BB damage > Musket by a significant amount
The difference is, Musket cannot deal competent damage without sacrificing constitution, meanwhile a Bow with 300 dex 200 con can deal the same if not better damage than a Musket (whom can shoot across the map) so that seems to be the trade-off here.
Musket cannot function effectively under pressure (due to the reload mechanic and having low constitution plus 0 defensive abilities)
Bow can function close / mid range (but cannot be consistent with long-range)
Mages can function close / mid range (but also have limited range)
BB can function close range (but the range is capped from 15-20 meters so effectively a CQB only weapon)
But all of these can use 200 con builds and still deal good dps.
Hitscan means your weapon doesn’t use a “PROJECTILE”
It’s an instant-hit if target is on your crosshair but is still affected by the laws of weapon max-range.

My favourite weapon? You mean BB? I think it fits in this game, the musket though. It’s something I’m really good at and it solves my offensive handicap in regards to playing with high latency (which, other weapons are just unplayable with)

Musket remains the most broken weapon, but hatchet is more annoying than the old rapier before the nerf.
I would say that four weapons need to be balanced ASAP

nerfing all those weapons does nothing i believe mortal empowerment is what breaks any build that can stay alive and conferm kills just shy of the 500 con riff raff
The current meta used in OPR its only to blame OPR scoring system.
I dont think Musket/Bow need any nerfs in DMG, but they need a limitation in shooting range to the same or slightly higher range than any other magic weapons.
Its absurd and unlogic to limit all magic weapons to certain range, but Bow/Musket to can shoot across the whole OPR MAP.
Big majority of Bow and Musket players are playing like exactly the same like magic players. If magic ranged players can dodge and hit so can do it the Musket and Bow players.
