I know this was intended as a positive change, and parts of it were – I am now stocked up on focus pots – but overall the potion availability went down and the prices up.
The problem is hyssop. In addition to azoth water we now also need 10 hyssop, just for base ingredient. Hyssop sells for about 0.45 per on my server and the bots that were running hemp and iron are now just wiping entire areas of hyssop and making 10 times what they were making on ore and fiber.
So this not only makes gold sellers wealthier, but it drains that wealth from players who now have to pay more for basic pots.
10 hyssop is 4.5 gold
1 azoth water is between 1.5 and 2.5 gold
That’s 6-7 gold just for base pot before you add 3 more ingredients to it. Health and regen pots used to sell for 2-3g before this. Mana was basically free. Now they all cost an arm and a leg.
Was this the intended goal of this change?
Suggestion: Halve the cost of hyssop and see if that is enough of a change. Go from 2-10 hyssop to 1-5 hyssop for the respective tiers. OR completely take azoth water out of top tier alkahest and make it only 10 hyssop. Move azoth water over to be the sole ingredient in encumbrance potions.
