1k hours of picking up shit and killing monsters? There are plenty of mmoâs that cost less and have way more content than this. This game have big potential, but the developers never say that they will add any content. What is added, is not enough to keep players busy and you see that in online charts. from 900 000 to less than 40 000 in less than 6 months. More players leaving leads to more players leaving. If they donât stop players from leaving fast, this game will close itself.
what stuff? You need to kill 1000s of monsters to stay competitive. That is not fun. The gear progression is garbage in this game. The available info about your stats is non existant. People are guessing what perks are working and how they are working, what critical chance they have etc. Just half baked garbage this game is.
End game content is PvP. Work on that please.
End game is when people leave the game. Game needs content and no talks about end game.
Constantly pointing out how many tried the game out at launch (900,000) as some sort of count of the player-base is misleading. How many of the people that left fairly soonâŚjust didnât like the gameâŚlike I never really like Halo for example? Nothing to do with content or bugs or anything else. Maybe it just wasnât the game for them.
from 900 000 to less than 40 000 in less than 6 months. That is some kind of world record.
People left the game because the game clearly wasnât ready for official launch. Full of bugs and glitches, huge bugs on core mechanics that made this game a huge and annoying waste of time.
@Makslinieks Iâm sorry but are you not able to understand written words ?
The content in this game has issues that need to be addressed, you even listed the content yourself there are Wars, OPR, Dungeons, Invasions, Faction Quests aka Dailies, Crafting, Housing, Open World PvP and even storytelling.
BUT they are all broken, and this needs to be fixed.
Yes there are more issues that need fixes, like the information/bugs about perks. Or shields that do not add attributes to the second weapon. But essential this is about content not broken skill/perks/actions. And right now the content in new world will require rethinking and a lot of effort. This isnât comming over night, and itâs also unlikely that AGS is going to improve them without introducing some other issues.
But as long as the net profit is positive thatâs good. And if AGS ever goes F2P after the game was properly taken care of this game is going to be huge. And your sorry grumpy ass is going to avoid it because youâre that kind of person.
Cheers
I will play this game if i see that they work hard to meet itâs potential. Amazon is a multi billion dollar online shop company and they canât even make online shop inside a game properly. How embarasing is that? But from what i see, this game will soon lose so many playes that it will not recover from that.
Sure. Thatâs the only reason everyone who tried the game isnât playing now.
Amazon yes, but AGS isnât the mother concern, I also work for a sub company of an AAA studio, We get barely enough money to scrap by.
AGS has even less people working there then in our sub company.
It wouldnât matter how many tried and quit the game early if the game wasnât designed about having a stable amount of people in small 2000 player servers, to have a viable economy and multiplayer pool to play with.
If people try and quit Halo, since there are no real servers you are locked into, you still have hundreds of thousands of players to play with, that will be picked up by the matching system.
In this game? We donât have that luxury, by design.
Instead of coming up with something modern like dynamic layers (open world people you encounter are put together by an automatic matchup system, just like Sea of Thieves does, or Red Dead Online), where you would have the entire player population to play with; they decided to go with a solution from the 90s: small, almost private-server-like worlds, that are extremely vulnerable to playerbase losses.
In order to keep the game viable, they are forced to keep merging servers, which they have done once in 4 months, in spite of the fact that the population has shrunk to 1/20th of its original size.
What will happen if the miracle happens, and they release a very popular expansion that makes lots of players come back or join? We will have the same problem we had early October, with ridiculous queues, followed by tens of new servers sprouting like mushrooms, fragmenting the player base, and the subsequent population shrinking, causing again dead servers, and we are back to square one.
Their server design for this game is anchored on outdated conceptions out from the 90s. They have rejected to look at anything new, flexible, and scalable that has come out in the past 30 years.
I suspect that this game is like a testing ground for stuff that will be meant for another game.
What PvP ? OW pvp is dead and not worth anyway. OPR ? Same map over and over I will do it twice and thats all for me I got bored. I was never complaning on balance cuz disbalanced mostly are made by bugged weapons before they wanna do some balance changes they need to focus on fixing weapons after it we can start thinking. Wars ? 50v50 content to make leaders happy with selling gold from taxes for real money sorry I dont wanna take part in it ( they dont want even shaređ).
You will not get banned, you will just get ignored. That is how people who brings up hard questions are treated in this game. AGS is all about making quick-fixes and patches, rather than addressing the larger issues.
Bingo
Open world PvP. Only thing to do.
Against who I can fight and why ? It only has sense if u have full loot system like in Albion otherwise is waste of time.
And what do you get from open world pvp? Zero progression or rewards. What motivates players for open world pvp? Only because there is nothing else to do.
I mean I agree itâs basically been killed off and I think more incentive and reasons for open world PvP should be top priority.
