New definition of MMO

Have you ever known game where hype dies on launch day ?

Lack of planning …to be honest it is not encouraging in regards to future of the game.

OT >>Even Fallout 76 didn’t have such comical start .

Let me be clear: No where have I said that Amazon isn’t capable of more. I just think the people asking for a refund 12 hours after launch are pretty entitled crybabies with zero concept of not receiving everything they want the moment they want it.

Seriously. Its a game. its a FUN game. The queue times will be fixed eventually. I’ll eat my shoe if they aren’t. And once they are fixed people will likely play this game for years. And someone wants a refund after 12 hours because they can’t get in? They’re going to quit just like that? Chill out…

I did not say it’s going to happen on a launch day. I mean two, three, six months after.
I think their plan was to support what is meant to support 2 years down the road. In the first few weeks numbers are usually inflated. That is how gaming scene is right now.
I HOPE for the game and for how much we love it, that it’s simply not true and we just keep on growing from this point  I’d love to see numbers like 12 million concurrent players online in an mmo once again.

Depends on how old you are ,if on younger side then you will see it …in 2069 when Star Citizen is launched.

HAHA. Waiting for Star Citizen since 1993. By the time it launches I think I’ll own my own spaceship with how space race is moving right now.

They’ll just rename it Elon Musk’s biography at that point…

People dont give a F, about new servers, you want to play with your friends.

The whole problem is that they have not implemented server channell system… Adding just new servers with 2k caps is not gonna solve anything…

Lesson Learned …Never ever put your money into project led by Chris Roberts

I could care less about playing with friends atm …there will be option to move servers …problem is that i cannot play … at least not with same char on same shard .

If you have played in the first day of launch, you would understand why 2k cap is enough. There’s a main story mob that you need to kill and there’s nearly 50 people around it  what do you do then ? Try and try again for an hour before you get it. Imagine double, triple that. Game’s resources are more limited than the server I think.
Mining Iron? Nah bro, there’s 50 more people going after it.
I honestly think what they are doing is spreading people across zones before increasing the limit cap. So that the next wave of 2k goes again and the others are already in the upper level zones. This way you avoid big congestion.

I have explored entire map and lots of secret areas in Beta …there is lots of places to add resources if needed …could be problem with quests …Once they implement that secret area to the north into game ,lots will be different …but atm servers can’t support more than 2500 to maximum 3000 without breaking game for peeps on that server.

You cannot do that.

You get a review per day of units sold by steam.

Even retailers tell you how many pre-orders they received…

All the needed to do is simple math.

Take the D-A-C-H Region (GErmany, Austria, Switerland ) do you know how many DE/EN Server they started with? 8…

16k Slots for a region where alone Germany has 82 Million people and if we assume just 0.01% of them are interested that number still is five times what they put out. They knew they hype, they knew how often their adds rolled out, how many they seen and especially how many units were sold where.

They tried to cheapskate, got caught out by it knowingly and well aware of it. Amazon tried to invest as little as possible in infrastructure and caused the issue all by themselves.

Congrats you have no friends that play the game already. I don’t play MMOs alone. Unfortunately, I need to go where my guild is. It’s the blessing and the bane of MMO infrastrucutre.

My company agreed after fiasco yesterday to log in any server level up and meet laters,no point going on same server if you never play .

If I know anything about how large tech organizations think (hint: I do) the thought process is this:
“Okay AGS. This is our first really big adventure into the world of game development. You need to hit xyz KPI’s if you want any additional funding for future projects.”
*looks at KPI’s and sees profitability requirements
“Hmmm… okay guys. We’re going to have to be conservative and controlled with our launch. If we break the bank here then New World and AGS are dead in the water before they even begin.”

You could have all 82 million Germans begging to play on day one. They are no match for a dude at amazon with a finance degree and the power to shut down the entire studio if they don’t post a strong enough margin. Oh and that guy is a total idiot who doesn’t actually know anything about running businesses. He just REALLY likes spreadsheets.

I made the same thing yesterday. Noatun server.Today I’m 1700th in queue.

Actually

Actually what? What is your point exactly?

There is literally 30 people in the Inn running towards walls. They can start kicking those players first or detect autohookkeys or similar

Players have been reporting getting stuck on autorun in game actually. So Unfortunately we can’t use that as justification to assume botting yet.
