Actually a wipe wouldn’t be a bad thing. 'WHEN" they fix all the bugs and exploits, and ONLY afterwards, is it fair to allow all the cheaters to keep their toys from it? Nope!
I’ve talked about this to friends and family that are playing and have hundreds of hours invested like I do and they agree. I’ve even created a contingency plan if they don’t wipe, which I doubt they will.
Well, I can tell you this. If you really loved the first quests where you have to kill some enemies, loot some chests and report back then the quest line is for you!
What I’m hoping for is after a year they will have fresh start servers. I’m not testing this game anymore.
You can always delete your character, we are not willing to waste 300+ hours just to be reset

People saying these are just a few “bugs” and the world will “even out” honestly have no clue how bad the exploits are. Worst part, this is just the beginning. It will get much worse.
There is already a mass exodus. Every MMO does NOT have the issues New World has. You’re a perfect example of someone who simply doesn’t know just how bad the issues with this game are. You think this is still about a content issue? AGS wishes that was the case.
This gold dupe item dupe existed on other games but still there up to date without doing server wipe… frameworks are placed to trace this kind of things

Except there isn’t Every game as high release number then they normalize , and every MMO has issue on release or launch , EVERY M M O . Except i know the issues , i also know they aren’t as bad as you seem to make them out to be. There are issues and alot of them , but none of them are game breaking problems , are they inconvenient , yes , do alot of them suck for us as a player , yes , but does it not allow you to play the game , no it doesn’t. Your a perfect of example of the entitled snowflakes that this forum seems to be full of , you all expected the game to be PERFECT right off the get go . its been 2 months , 2 MONTHS!! , not even enough time for population balances to normalize yet . Not even enough time for trade posts to normalize . give it another few months before saying that the game is crap . They don’t work 24/7 to gix the problems that YOU deem needed before any other. They have a list , and they will get to them as THEY deem they need to . some are more complicated than others , even if they seem simple to most players. I know the backend , i work with servers , i have for better part of the last 25 years. so relax enjoy that you can play , give feedback in a polite manner , and move on.
It is in fact pretty normal for an MMO to lose 50% of players in the first Month and then 10-30% of what is left in the second month.
Player numbers normalize after 2 month or the game dies course it is bad.
Back to topic: IF (and only if) the framework of the game is good enough, then amazon can simply ban or destroy all duped items after they fixed the problems. They dont exactly need to “wipe” the servers, it is just a question if they can find all the exploidet shit.
In terms of the game itself, well, it is pvp. After the fix just kill the ***** and reconquer your towns, if they need to exploid to win they will lose very fast and hard after the exploid is fixed.

I point out obvious facts and attack me with petty name calling and pushing a false narrative like I said the game was crap. The game isn’t crap and nor did I ever say it was. The game is broken and there’s no putting the lid back on the box. And once again, there are people that know this and then there’s people that don’t know this yet. It’s pretty clear which one of those types of people you are.
I would dislike having to level fishing again but I do see your point.
I’d hope they can revamp the skills like fishing and make it a tad easier if they did wipe. I heard it took some people like 20 hours

@Madds Its not attacking you specifically , i am seeing the same attitude amungst many of the voices on the forum. Im just glad the community managers at amazon can sift through the entitled snowflake whine and get to the more constructive criticism and either reply or pass it along.
We as players neither own , nor can demand anything from amazon . They can choose how to do what they feel is in the best interest of the player base and their direction of the game. Taking feedback is important and they know this. But there is soooo much whining going on about how this was the worst launch in MMO history , or the queue times were to long , or this bug or that bug , or this exploit , or that exploit . Its simple in the feedback forum in a polite manner inform them there is an issue , or if there is already a thread there , add to it.
I am neither attacking you or anyone else , i am simply stating the truth , and i understand the truth hurts. but it is the truth , if you feel like you are the one i am talking specifically about , i am sure i can find my army hurt feelings report and email it to you.
as for the originating question , a wipe would be the silliest thing to do . if we average players at 200 hrs ( and yes i know many are way more but for sake of a number lets do this) , at roughly 500,000 players as it currently sits , thats well over 100 million hours of play time , wipeing that much playtime will most certainly make most leave to other avenues of personal entertainment. If anyone feels that strongly about the game being un-playable , well there is the door , don’t let it touch your no no space on the way out. otherwise lets be somewhat adults and offer solutions that don’t involve causing more damage than good.
There is nothing so broken in the game that needs to be nuked.
Gold can be deleted
Exploiters can be banned
Terrority can change hands again
There is a cap on what anyone can do right now. The best of the exploiters got to voidbent quicker, maxed out some tradeskills quicker, but they don’t need the gold anyway so what does it matter.
Everyone in a month will be in voidbend. Many many legit players will have maxed all the tradeskills they want to.
Then they release the new zone and have it either gobble up all the old resources or make them no longer important for T6+ content.
The last thing they need to do to fix anything right now is *.delete the playerbase.
Instead of wiping everyone, how about once the exploits are fixed, we get new servers were server transfer isn’t possible on. so people who want to keep playing with their characters can, while the rest of us can create new characters on these servers?
