These people that canāt kill healers are the ones making feedback on the forums and then the devs decide its a HUGE issue. The thing is many players are happy how things were with Stamina/Healing before this, but they didnāt complain so nothing changed.
The fact is the playerbase of NW has declined 90%+ in under a year. This is in part because the devs are listening to people who are complaining because they suck vs making changes because it is needed in the game.
Nerfing stamina and adding a cast time to LE is a bad choice to make. If anything there should be no cast times to healer spells. You donāt see gravity well/ice shower/ice storm having a cast time, why should healer spells?
And once again, why should I be needed in PVE expeditions because of arenas, wars, and OPR?!?!
This is wrong AGS⦠separate the ability to have PVE vs PVP settings, this is going to far!
The changes are good for PvP. It should be separated from PvE.
I see a lot of people crying āoh you cant kill a healer you are just badā loool no. If you claim that you only play a healer, healers are currently Immortals gods as long as they have 2 brain cells against at very least 3 players.
Im sorry that you Will no longer be able to nobrain heal spam + dodgespam and tbag the people damaging you while you tank with your face and believe you actually have skill and its not the healing that is broken.
Now you Will need to use some brain cells, it Will be good for you .

Tanks and Healers have to rely on DPS, but DPS can be tanky damage dealers who have built-in self sustain? [Looks at: Insatiable Gravity Well, Trenchant Recovery, Leeching Path of Destiny, 24 second health potions]
A game where only DPS has an input on how a fight should play out. Interesting. Hard pass.
I just donāt understand.
Iāve played heavy since i first started, because the game allowed me to have that playstyle. Paladin tanky style. I mainly use a hammer, or SnS with my life staff. I donāt do a lot of damage, and my heals were not as beefy (unless i sacrificed a lot of HP to offset the healing difference)
The main reason i played in heavy, is because i donāt do the rolly dodge thing. I get that people like it, but thatās not what i do. I block, and stun and heal. And as long as iāve been playing i can tell you that 99% of the time i still get Deleted all the time by anyone that knows what they are doing. Those few times that i can hold off a few people is because they donāt do the things that other people do (skill difference)
It doesnāt take 2 or 3 people. I could name a handful i know that can take me out in about 6 seconds even if i see them coming.
In PVE it comes down to playstyle again, light armor is just not my thing. This particular change just counters everything i do. All the +healing and time i spent building a heavy bis set down the drain.
Maybe there arenāt a lot of us, but there are some. I donāt like that we just got deleted by a single patch. Make heals consume more mana in heavy, sure. Cast times longer? OK. Self healing down? Iām alright with that, makes sense.
But all healing -30 across the board out of the gate is just not great.
Iāve always been fond of AGSās resolve to reinvent the wheel, and not just copy everything else thatās out there. And every once in a while, sure thereās a QoL change that mimics other things out there and i realize that itās unavoidable sometimes due to the nature of MMOās and only being so many ways you can make a wheel.
But i think this was a poor choice personally, when the idea wasnāt even considered to make any adjustments to anything else concerning the playstyle.
How about, i dunno maybe increase the scaling of focus gems on heavy so that at the very least while my healing just got nerfed 30% across the board, i at least get some output? And not by having to TRI spec and lose out elsewhere.
Something, anything other than a blanked statement of āwe donāt want you using lifestaves in heavy, periodā
This is my stand on a hill moment, and iām sure many of you disagree and thatās fine. I just really donāt agree with this moving forward.
As a Light/Medium healer, heavy healing is not my thing. All the power to you.
I find it to be rather lackluster, since once you go in thereās no getting out with all the chain slows + stuns/roots. Ice Shower, Gravity Well, Ice Storm, Path of Destiny, etc.
If you try to pocket someone it heals for very little (your LE might heal for a potion on someone who isnāt sitting on Sacred), and chances are they get bursted or CC chained to a grey screen anyways.

There were already drawbacks. I would have to be diligent to make up the difference. I painstakingly make sure that all of my self heal buffs are running, and fortify. And perked properly i have good output.
Blocking, dodging and stun when necessary, and recently, i was tinkering with a BB to zip around and using itās defensive perks. But all of those are nill with the change. Light armor depends solely on reflexive dodges and mobility, i frame ect.
How that has never entered the topic of discussion for nerfs iāll never know. Like, if you are good at light you are nearly impossible to kill is my perspective. I see it all the time.
I always found the sonic the hedgehog gameplay to be the real problem, but evidently others do not see it that way. Like we have a problem when someone takes a few hits and heals, but we donāt have a problem if they roll and take 0 damage several times, ignore CC and get away? This includes non healing glass cannon DPS. I just am at a loss.
Arcadia: Blocks, stuns, dodges and heals, block block stun heal.
Audience: This is overpowered and stupid and we donāt like this.
Otherguy: Timed roll, 0 damage, timed roll, 0 damage, timed roll, 0 damage. Rapier dodge, riposte 0 damage.
Audience: This guy is highly skilled, we like this and believe this is good.
Compounded with the fix they did with the stamina damage for melee, i was already sweating with shield and hammer block leading to a stun.
They were probably doing internal testing for arenas and came across balancing issues with the life staff.
It shouldnāt really impact PvE all that much since healing is already vastly over-tuned for the pve content available.
I think thatās why they are changing the way stamina regeneration works to limit the āsonic the hedgehogā gameplay.
Sonic the hedgehog gameplay keeps heavy bruiser death-ball in check regarding large scale PvP.
It allowed players to impact in a bigger fight without being ran down by a W-Key bloodlust great axe heavy bruiser. Resourceless gap closing.
I donāt know how bad the stamina change will be. If you cannot escape a GA it will be terrible, but when Iām being chased by a GA I donāt actually dodge until they reap/gravity well/charge. I survive just fine, and I donāt think a 1 second delay on stam regen will change much. But I could be wrong.

That looks okay to me, but we will see. You probably wonāt be able to get away will stupid stuff anymore, like dodging around a group of 10 enemies in OPR, but that probably should never been a thing in the first place.

My bad, i knew a loviel on Ker-Ls. I am also on ohonoo. Maybe we can both go Gaxe/WH with everyone else as i guess thatās one of the 3 or 4 valid choices.
(Though honestly i think its Gaxe/VG and Gaxe/IG Cheese rn)
