New item slot ? -ARM RING

Hi guys I have an idea about new item slot and it allows us to acces stat perks.
for example fire staff mages can get 300 str bonus without having 300 str.

I know this is silly idea but stat perks already need changes so i want to share my idea i hope devs love it.

Stat perks are a little goofy in general with some weapons. Like the blunderbuss is a strength primary weapon but your 300 point stat perk (neither the current or the coming new one) do anything for the weapon. The design could use some work.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm in sharing your idea, it is a very poorly thought out one. Perhaps you could think it through a bit more, because this would introduce more bad than good into the game?

How would an enemy player know what ā€œARM RINGā€ is in use by someone using it? Would they have some sort of visual glow that is associated with a stat? :thinking:

Why would a Fire Staff user, which scales off of Intellect, need a 300 STR perk? :thinking:

Yes I was thinking about blunderbuss cuz it has thrust damage with str / int weapon but with ā€œarm ringā€ allow to get dex perk +5% thrust damage and haste after skining too.

I think some and most perks need to change if they want to add this ā€œarm ringā€ or what will they decide name of it.

thats is a tricky part and make different against players. you can imagine who has stats and things but this time its be suprising.

and this one also I want to say any class but bow , musket and blunderbuss cant get this grit because they are aimed weapons. this can change. devs are smarter than me.

While I’m not supporting the OP’s wonky ā€œarm ringā€ idea, a fire staff would benefit from the new 300 STR perk coming up that increases heavy attack damage, assuming people with a fire staff do heavy attacks.

There are instances though where the perks of a weapon’s stat don’t make any sense though, such as the blunderbuss strength example above.

Surprising players is not a good game mechanic, so things like this that would introduce MORE RNG into PVP combat are a bad design choice and should NOT be implemented.

300 STR will no longer give Grit, so this is a useless suggestion, in my opinion.

I agree with you that the new perk rework for 300 STR could benefit a FS user, but the FS user would have to sacrifice their Intellect attribute points to gain the 300 STR perk, with the PTR Patch note changes

The OP’s suggestion for an ā€œARM RINGā€ to give a free 300 Perk Bonus is interesting, but needs a LOT more thought put into it before it could be considered a useful addition to the game.

Yeah ideas are important I want to mention about new item slot can be fun in future maybe 1 year maybe 2 years later who knows but if they read once , they can think around it then add to the game. i guess

Before this stat perk item , all stats have to be change and 50 - 100 - 150 - 175 - 200 - 250 -300 - 325 can be awesome for add new specifics. like deal more fire damage %10 and less ice damage %10. upsides and downsides

Right, I agree with that, just saying your idea, while interesting, needs to be more fleshed out, thought through, etc. before it could really be something implemented.

Perhaps it could be locked behind a series of quests and achievements to enable it and require special materials to craft one?

Perhaps you would need to craft each one separately, like the Heartrunes, for the various 300 Attribute bonuses?

I think sticking with just the 300 Attribute perk would be a better option.

Oh I read the OPs idea as a way to get an additional stat perk from a stat you arent invested in. Not that youd be giving up a perk from the stats you have. Like it would be a piece of gear with an extra perk on it.

Correct. You will get 300 dex and 200 cons stat perks and str 150 bonus with this item and boom !

It helps if you quote the entire sentence I wrote, not snipping the part you did.

To clarify, this is BEFORE the OP’s suggestion of the Arm Ring would be implemented, so that is the only way that a player could achieve the 300 STR perk, in the PTR.

Well now I’m just confused, I snipped what I did because I was only referencing and replying to the part where you were talking about giving up the 300 int perk to get it.

But whatevs, it doesn’t really matter.

I added an additional statement for clarity. The part you quoted was to give context for my next statement about OP’s idea needing more to be more thought out, iterated on etc.

If you take both statements together, as I wrote them, it makes more sense.

Before OP’s suggestion, with only the PTR patch notes, the only way the player could get the 300 STR perk would be to sacrifice some other attribute, INT or CON, to get the perk.

After OP’s suggestion would be implemented AND the PTR Patch note changes go live, then the ARM RING suggestion would make more sense.

Would this ARM ring be an additional Jewelry slot, making that a 4th slot on the Character UI tab?
