They can’t stop the websites, unless they issue take down notices for some sort of copyright infringement claims, however I don’t think it’s possible for them to punish people. It has no interaction with the game.
I’m guessing the part they can punish are the methods people pull location data. Turning off the API. blacklisted Overwolf and monitoring new projects from things like github.
Outside that reading a guide (which essentially a website is since it doesn’t actually interact with the game) should be legit.
ofc it’s hyperbolic. But the internet, the information sharing, making progress in mmos reach maximum efficiency has indeed decrease immersion greatly.
But ofc I doubt games will forbid Youtube or using the internet. It is possible but unlikely. Although there have been game companies that have threatened in real life and have taken action against information leak on their games. Something unprecedented. Game companies are now starting to get some backlash for their anti-consumer practices.
We just go back as at the beginning, with the 2nd screen + map to be rated, too bad, it penalizes those who have only one screen, it was a great app, to be deleted now, useless
I do have a lot of my paths already memorized even before having the MiniMap (I’ve had about 2 weeks now), I did rely on the interactive map previously. I just wish AGS takes a definitive stance and doesn’t flip flop and also provide clarity. I feel like striking down these Quality of Life things shouldn’t even be occurring when there are greater needs that need to be addressed. Such as dupes, cheating, exploits, massive amounts of bugs across the board (Including their own compass barely functioning).
they can change the requirements for it anytime they want, all the devs of minimap had to do was make it based on level instead of showing the static map. (everything). Not sure if the api allows them that sort of control on it or not so for the moment minimap is useless.
the poster that said they cannot control what you do on your machine, they do control what it does when it applies to the game. The terms of service are pretty clear on that point.
Ags is not stealth changing anything they have been pretty clear about this being subject to change at any point in the future.
I am still a bit disappointed they made such a fuzz about the minimap.
It is a very helpful addon and a necessity.
Alt tabbing to the html version is just cancer.
I guess too many just cried about “unfair” in all those forums.
Let me tell you what will happen if your fantasy comes true and they install some invasive Spyware on my computer that can detect what sites I have open on my second monitor, and ban me for it:
I’ll open it up on my phone.
Now what? What’s AGS gonna do about me having a site open on a completely different device?
