Had my first game crash today since i’ve started playing. 65+ hours of game time. Game completely froze and zero sound. When i opened up task manager, it had my GPU at 0% utilization which was obviously the problem. Was able to close the game from task manager, it didn’t shut down or restart my PC like i see some people have happening. Curious if anyone who updated their GPU drivers today have experienced any freezes or crashes.
I updated my nvidia drivers to the new update they did this morning, wondering if that has anything to do with it? Going to roll back my gpu drivers to the september 20 version, hoping I never have this issue again.
My GPU crashes as well since a few days now. not sure exactly when its started but i also have a few tens of hours without troubles. Now randomly it cerashes my GPU. Game freezes even tough i can still hear sounds in game and i have to ALT+F4. Even after that the Process is still running in task manager and i have to kill it there as well.
I have already tried to install the new driver (2070 NVIDIA) .12. fresh install, no changes. also tried all the solutions i found online. even restricting the power of the GPU to 75% does not improve it. I have yet to find a solution.
Try undervolting your card as well, not just reducing power cap. I am undervolted and power capped to 80% and I have never had an issue apart from when my game was freezing from the new Nvidia drivers.
Did both. Still crashing. I am still trying to figure out what happened since 1st week and so where i played with no problems except small 2-3 seconds freeze.
game is “freezing” i still hear sounds in the background. the only way to really close it is via task manager. if i ALT+F4 the process is tsill open in task manager. when the game crashes its flickers both of my screen like the driver would fail or something.
after tinkering a bit with under volting my card it seems its a bit more stable but it still crashes randomly.
