I just have no clue as to what steampunk has to do with this game its themes, era, and aesthetics.
While I am sure all artists have preferences. Certain ones have niches where they shine. Yet this shouldn’t delimit them at their job. If they can’t keep to the overall theme and aesthetic of the world they are creating for then they may need some paid leave. They could visit some studios and museums to increase the scope of their design capabilities.
They need to just give in and do whatever technical overhaul they need to do to make these skins dyable. I’m not ever buying a purple skin, but if I can turn that purple to black or dark blue, I’d consider the Starbound or Moonmborne set.
If anybody that matters happens to read this, look at how Destiny 2 does their skins. Everything is dyable.
Honestly I think the armor designers are an entry level position. They higher someone on, fail to explain the aesthetic design of the game, don’t let them play it and just tell them all armors must use ALL the colors. No one reviews them, then they are pushed to the store.
I have not seen one single store armor that fits in the game. A few of the prime skins fit, the tie in for that TV show (don’t remember because it was supper forgetable) are prob the most fitting imo.
agree with yah here… if they cant keep the theme… then **** the theme… time to let us Tmog items, PLEASE…
and make fun skins like God of war skins >>>>??? everyone has fun with these >>> dont fall off the skin guidelines and keep pumping out this garbage … the Boobie hat for VDay and the PP helm was a bit a WTF moment ??? you dont even follow there own PG ratings
It’s the same with me it took me quite a while to remember it was the Wheel of Time. Even have to pause at times.
I thought the Bard and Rogue outfits were also pretty close.
Two sets that really do fit the setting are the Weaver and Engineering sets for crafting. They look like what a magister/master of a craft or trade would wear.
This would satisfy most of needs. The original designs/designers are pretty much on tack for the era.
If money making is the issue then sell transmog tokens. Just do what GW2 did and that’s sell them in a bundle. Five for armor or two for weapons or a single transmog for people who just want that one piece they found.
