PTR will succeed or fail based on how AGS utilize it.
If they go for the WoW method of just dumpiung eveyrthing on there and letting people pick it apart, It will fail.
What they should do is open it in limited windows to test specific aspects of a patch.
This allows them to actually get focused feedback and bugtesting.
If they just pop the PTR open and let people do whatever they want with it, it’ll just be used as pre-patch previews for youtubers to make videos on, much like WoW’s PTR is used for.
Yes, there are people who go to PTRs with the intent to bugtest, But many more just join to check out new stuff or find bugs they hope wont be fixed for launch so they can abuse them.
So we’ll have to see how AGS handle it.
Yes, after a hella rocky start, they have the game headed in the right direction. Clearly NW was not ready for release in September, but the future plans are promising IF they can deliver properly functioning content and continue to focus on fixing bugs and optimizing systems.
The “game is dying” peeps just want to see it burn for no good reason. The game looks to be strong for the foreseeable future and yes, I’ll take bets on that.

Unfortunately, they made it first come first serve, so yes you are right this will be used for contents only and last priority will be the actual checking for bugs
