New/ returning player thoughts

Hello,

I have recent started playing the game again because of all the hype around the new expansion and theres a nice 1.5x event going on. So i figured now would be a good time to hop back in and I would like to list off the issues i have noticed thus far.

Lets start with my biggest issue with the game which is travel time. Not having mounts is a risky thing to do in 2022. Warping to shrine and towns still doesnt change the fact that im walking to an objective completing it quickly and then walking back. I feel like i am traveling more then doing anything else in the game and that is a bad thing.

Solution:
The game is in despereate need of mounts although because of how sandboxy the world is the game needs to have a horse raising and breeding system rather then having constant mounts your rewarded when killing raid bosses etc. For an example of this look at BDO for the breed/ training system just make it more active not so much AFK and maybe look at Guild wars 2 for the mount abilities system.

Questing and backtracting. Now this kind of ties into mobility and just how far out of the way quests will take you

Solution:
Npc turn in locations when you complete quests need to be near the area you completing it in.

Fishing and Foods

I Love to fish in MMOs and New worlds is no exception but it feels like theres more rng then in other games when jt comes to fishing. If i take a town quest to get a specific fish for some reason i can fish for hours and not get a single one of that specific species of fish… it just feels bad. In comparison i can do everything else on the board with no issues and way less time investment. Which begs the question who would ever do the fishing quests for EXP in thier current state.

SOLUTION:
Make the turn in for this in towns accept either all fish or chopped up all fish.

Weapon Viability

Now this is more from the outside looking in but if i google what the best PVE build is in new world i get a couple results and most are melee/ hatchet/ spear builds.

SOLUTION:

At end game, weapons need to be far more equal in thier performance in PVE

Combat Animations and wieght feel

This is probably somewhat opinion based but heavy weapons need to feel like they have weight when you hit something right now i give this to the hammer as the best feeling heavy weapon. Great axe, and great sword(ptr) are swinging to fast to get that same good weighty feel along with of course animation fluidity this can be improved but weapon speed is important to get right.

Looking forward to game improvements as time goes on.
