So this is after upgrading to a tier 4 loom tier 2 gates. All the towns are exavtly the same and the server has pop. Where is all the money going? Towns will never get upgraded this way. The new town system sucks.
So I did the math on this actually so I could see how much towns made on my server. The problem is taxes are static regardless of how much your server generates. So a lower pop server will always pay a larger % of their income on taxes, to the point where it can exceed 100%.
Based on a server that maxes around 2200 pop, the global server income is roughly 10M per week which is pretty sustainable. However, if a server makes less than 2M per week total, then regardless of what zone you own, how many upgrades you have, the tax rate will always be larger than the income, and thus, all towns will lose money no matter what they do. If your server is under 1,000 pop it is likely the BEST CASE scenario is that you make a few thousand per week after taxes. 1,500 pops will likely be paying 50ish% of their town income on taxes alone, regardless of the # of upgrade and the zone.
If you are considering transferring to a low pop to take zones, beware.
If amazon reads this, I am confused what the point of paying taxes in zones is at this point anyway. There is already a massive gold sink anyway if a zone is not maxed. If you really do believe in the mechanic, at least make it % based, that way scenarios like this do not happen.
Yes. This is part of the new economy changes. There’s quite a few other threads about it on here, but there’s lots of issues for the newer worlds. The fresh start servers are going to be obliterated if there isn’t a change to this.
Oh god, I hadn’t even thought about fresh start.
Yeah. One would hope some changes come out by then.
A good post about some of the major problems (and some potential improvements) with the new territory changes. Some of the other more recent discussion posts are posted towards the bottom as well.
Well if Amazon is interested in having someone do basic economics for them, this is my application. I have a high school diploma, above room temperature IQ and a microsoft excel certification. I know I’m overqualified, but I’m a charitable person, what can I say.
They’ve had this job open for a year+ at this point ![]()
Sadly, I don’t have 5+ years of experience in gaming analysis. Oh well, guess I’ll continue to leave my feedback on the forums.
I think these qualifications effectively rule out any actually qualified candidate and instead you get an overly studious, middle-aged, game developer whos likely only job-searching because of a previous failure in the gaming industry.
