New Shield Rush animation. Bug or Intended?

  • Describe the issue you are experiencing:
    After the May update Shield Rush was changed. It now has a weird Berserk-like animation if you hit someone along with a cracking audio effect. Before the patch the animation was short enough to allow player to follow up with a Sheield Bash and get the opponent stunned, but now with the new animation you cannot do it. I’d love to know if the change is intended, or if the new animation was added without considering the recovering animation.

    Not sure if it’s a bug or an intended change.

    I cannot follow up a Shield Rush with a Shield Bash anymore so I have to change to less usefull skills for my build.

    No, the issue persists and my friend has the same animation.

Finally someone else noticed this!

After the shield rush animation/hitbox change, it became very inconsistent. Sometimes the person is in front of you and you don’t hit them. Also, it seems that the animation that was already long, is bigger.

This. That combination was outright broken vs all but Heavy Armour.

Just don’t take the sub masteries under shield rush. Then you have time to shield bash.

This fixed the animation! Thank you so much for pointing this out.

Then as it stands, it is not an issue with the May patch, apologies for the confusion. The Improved Rush skill seems to apply an aoe effect and 1 strike damage as well as an animation is a part of it.

Would still love to know if the longer animation is intended or if it’s an oversight. For me this animation makes or breaks the usage of the skill and an extra debuff would be nice to have without having to deal with a longer animation.

It is in fact intended. You “shout” at enemies and cause the debuff. Personally, I think that the debuff isn’t worth the animation. Also sorry I just saw your response.
