New standard: Pay full price to BETA test a game

Daggerfall had more content than almost every other game.
It’s an apple / pears comparison

actually no. online games usually have more potential as content, cuz they can have story content like single player games but then they have ONLINE content which single player games dont have. so they can have more content than single player games easily. and while online game has that chance to have bigger content than single games, but still it doesnt have even half content than a single player, than it is a big NO for it.

so usually online games with strong storyline, has a big amount of content even it released new. IF that game is called a Good Game.

they can bring content but they shouldnt release with that kind of near no content status. when u release 1.5x content, it can take less years to reach 10x content than when u release your game with 6x content. and if your playerbase not patient to wait for 8.5x time, then u will lose your playerbase. maybe they can wait for 4x while they cant wait for 8.5x.

Game runs smooth for me and my PC is old.
Also, New World is far from a full price mmo, it’s little more than a free to play.

I remember the days when you’d get game home (i.e. not have downloaded it) and pray:

A. The tape recorder let it load
B. The game looked anything like the screen shots in the magazine article you’d read about it
C. The Dev (singular) had bothered to finish the later stages of the game (lots didn’t)

None of that was ‘right’, I accept that, but these days there seems to be less tolerance for imperfection out the gate and the assumption of a degree of entitlement to a self-defined version of what perfect is which is a shame. Just an old man’s reflections on the way people are these days I guess.

Yea.
I loved those tape recorders, eventho it’s a -little- before my time.
I do remember some weird sexual text adventure my father didn’t realize I could boot up.

the time changed. at past there was a few game, so the powerfull one wasnt players. players didnt have too much choice so they have to wait developers. Now, the power in players’ hand. There are too many game racing each other to catch players from other companies.

so now, it is companies the one who must adapt themselves to players, not players have to adapt themselves to game developers. ıf you made your game bad ? there are too many games for player to go. So they will go without too much thinking.

and nowadays, players doesnt like liar game companies. if your game will be ready after 5 years ? then tell them “my game will be released 5 years after now” so dont give them an expectation. if u tell them “my game will be released 2 years after now” and giving them an expectation to 2 years after, and then release an unfinished game after 2 years. they will be pissed off. and probably will be more sensitive for games u will release after this game. if there will be one mistake at your next game, they will see it like 2 x mistake because it is your game.

So game companies better not fool players.

Hi. Your specs would bing interesting and which kind of crash.
Hot GPU? Not the game makers problem.

Got a 1060 and my g-u temp sits at 92 and may reach 98 at times have yet to crash though

I’m playing New World on a aging desktop PC and so far had no issue at all. I’m using a EVGA GTX 1080 8GB video card which stays in the 64-69c temp range all day long. Which is below the max temp of the card which is 94c. Below is my overall system spec for those that wishes to know.

Processor: AMD FX-8320 Vishera 8-Core 3.5 GHz
Cooler: MSI Core Frozr L
Mobo: Asus TUF Sabertooth 990fx r3.0
Memory: 16 GB G.Skill 1666MHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 8 GB SSC
Storage: 250 GB Samsung 960 EVO M.2
Storage: 500 GB Samsung 860 EVO
PSU: Corsair 750W
Monitor: 42" 4K TV
Keyboard: Corsair K55 RGB Gaming Keyboard
Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro
Mic: Blue Snowball Ice

I hope the people/players will learn to improve themselves.
That way if a company steals gameplay elements like Battle Royale, that people will say “no”. Instead of throwing money at a company, dedicated to give you less options.
People suggesting mounts is not a good sign.

I hate Dota, LoL, battle royales, mounts and everything big with streamers. Develop yourself, don’t always look at others.

if a big amount of people want something then company sold their game to wrong people OR they made a wrong game for the aim customers. thats it. u cant say %80 of people playing the game like “dont try to change company, change yourself”. no things doesnt work like that at this world nowadays.

the company will change or their game will be an average game which will have maybe 40-50k active player.

Would you have preferred to have the game delayed even longer? Personally I would not.

ESO at release dwarfed this game in content as well as mob variety, non-copy pasted cities and dungeons. The storyline quests and side quests alone made ESO A Tale of Two Cities vs New World’s My First Reader. So yeah, don’t even try comparing this lame indie vibe attempt at a game to ESO at release.

Those things are easy to counter… Do not preorder… do not buy on launch.

I switched over from console gaming and 40 bucks is a lower tier game where you should not expect too much of it. Mostly either an Indie game or a Remaster etc.
Fullprice? Those are games 70-100 for me.

A game providing you content for over 200 hours… for 40 bucks? Man thats a great offer though.

I’m just annoyed how people are progressing online. First people focussed on gameplay and after the first 3D games came out… it’s just been crappier and crappier. In my experience it all started to become a crapshoot after the first Counterstrike.
Making a simple, but somewhat pretty, game scores 100x better than a good, ugly, game.
LoL and Dota being perfect examples of simplistic terrible games, but monkey see and monkey do… add some price money and it’s all some people do. (not play, “do”)

We used to develop and publish our own media outlets, be it radio/video broadcasting games… for free, to be used by anyone.
I now háte, absolutely háte, every single person sitting in front of a camera and broadcasting their crap. This has become the current trend.
Even if they wouldn’t be doing it for stupid materialistic rewards, it’s beyond me. Attention grabbing snowflakes.
Add a couple of million dollars, which some streamers make. Completely beyond me. Lack of style and ethics.
We are not progressing in a good way, therefor: Develop yourself.

My gf has
i9 10850k
RTX 2080
32Gb 3200Mhz

None of us have any problems at all. when we run uncapped fps our pc´s gets hot but not geting to much power or crashes. Altho we run on capped 60fps to be safe.

We havent had any problemes at all exept for the long qeus at the start.

I think it is a combination of some hardware is not compandibel with the game.
So it is on AGs to find out what is doing it and fix it.

il like to adress that im playing on a 1650 TI and a CPU I7 10th Gen and i dont have any issues with the game.

my pc is pretty average tbh I keep it up to date and healthy like anyone else, but I can’t say haven’t gotten waves of frozen screen or occasional stutter and some of these problems are gone so I see that devs are putting in the work to make the game playable, but a lot of these problems affecting the vast majority of the player base were due and extremely predictable.

The game doesn’t feel like a beta having that said, but, it’s far from feeling like any form of a finished base game (we all know this stuff gets dlc but that’s not the point).

It’s always been that way with MMO’s. The nature of the beast I guess. In a way, it allows for some degree of flexibility in how systems are finalized/fleshed out. At the very least, the player base input is there during the process.
