Each unlocked level will free up a point to be spent on a passive (only passive), after level 20, you can choose to spend the passive on the ultimate as well, number of abilities are unlocked per level, ie, at level 1, you will have 1 passive point to spend, and 1 usable skill, at level 5, 2 usable skills, 5 points to spend, level 15, 4 skills to be used, 15 points to spend, and so on…you can only have 4 active skills at a time, and you can select only 4, it will not have azoth cost to restart the build, and besides, you will have extra pages of the same weapon, to have several pre-defined builds, you can freely switch when out of combat , and has no reloading ability.
This would create a real feeling of progression with the weapon, making it feel that really and in fact, it is stronger, except that at level 30, it will have all passives activated (unlinked passives, 1 ultimate only, and all linked passives by This will create less tension of “oh my god what should I put in”, will make the weapon complete, which will change builds to another, will be the selected skill, and the ultimate.
I do like stuff like this and really want leveling up to have more “impact”. I honestly can’t believe more people aren’t talking about stuff like this. I want there to be more skills in general as being limited to 3 per weapon is really weak.
I get that in total you get 6 but why would anyone want to constantly have to swap weapons all the time just to have their full potential unlocked? Its the most asinine mechanic every conceived of.
But I like the idea as well of having more theme on each skill/weapon, having an ultimate ability and also having different specs/pages to swap between for skill rotations. Could even make those cost azoth/gold to swap between or purchase. Either would be fine.
I just really hope they do anything to make leveling more meaningful and have more useful skills added to the game. Even if it means replacing other ones that never see any use.
Worst of all is you’re limited to an always linear build of upgrades, and it gets even worse when it comes to skill upgrades, lol, recover mana on fire pillar, and deal damage at full health with fire pillar, san totally different style of play, there’s no point depending on one to get another, I recently made a 3/4 skill system, and what a non-linear progression…take a look here
