Hey look! its me again, back with some unsolicited suggestions that probably wont ever see the light of day lol
TLDR for all you lazy bones: smaller villages/ new invasion mode/ Open World PVP mode (escort mission)
What I think sucks about territory control is that it is very exclusive to the best handful of companies on a server. Although its usually rightfully earned, I think smaller companies or slightly less pvp centered companies should also have a chance at owning something and making some honest money out of it as well. More inclusive + more content + unique encounters + NEW way to open world pvp= fun. So I really hope these concept posts that I keep making impact someone on the dev team because I legitamately think these can breathe life into the game.
CONCEPT
-Every territory can have smaller villages with the settlements being the capitol.
-These villages cannot be owned by the company that owns the territory, but is up for claiming by other companies in the same faction as the territory owners.
-These villages have tiers of their own (similar to crafting stations) and upgrading them changes them aesthetically as well as giving boost in whatever functions they have
-These functions can involve future crafting stations or trade skills that I didnt think up of too much because im sure whatever ideas you guys have is pretty much set in stone. BUT on the possibility of adding mounts, these villages can offer stables or other structures to house these creatures. (more logistics on the mount idea at the end of this)
-these villages need to defend against smaller scale invasions but instead of just corruption, they should be invaded with whatever creatures roam that area (i.e. lost, ancients, angry earth, etc.)
-The pvp aspect of this I think is the juiciest part though:
The main objective of villages is to do missions and gather specific supplies to send to the main settlement via carriage. Once all supplies are gathered, the carriage will be set to move at a specific time. Once the carriage gets going, it is up to the defending faction to move with the carriage and defend it from anyone trying to attack it… On the other hand, anyone from the other factions can try to raid the carriage.
-A successful escort results in: Anyone participating to get their rewards, the entire territory gains an active perk (different perks dont depend on the which village it is, but it is randomly decided when the delivery reaches the settlement.), and the controlling company for the village recieves their payment for the shipment
-Successful raid: Similar victory rewards as defenders, access to chests inside the carriage which would give valuable rewards, and temporary control over the village which would mean the profit from that village goes to the company that temporarily claims the village.
NOW for the whole mount thing. I think It would be much more meaningful if mounts werent just “click on them and they appear infront of you”. Instead, you can pick them up from the stable or keep that you rent from these villages and when you get off of them, they remain there until you get back to them. with either a symbol on the map to show where they are. If you dont get back to them or log off, they spawn back into the keep. This would give villages a stable source of income as well as a great reason to constantly visit them
