Why are we paying paying taxes every 5 days instead of 7? I realize Aeternum is not Earth as we know it, but is it an over sight, a bug or working as intended? In Beta I asked this same question and many other player were wondering also. I know there are many other pressing matters at this time, but it would be great to have some “official” feedback on this issue…Cheers
Im guessing its because 5 is the arbitrary number that AGS chose? While longer period would make it less taxing on the players, if the window is longer then people can just wait out to pay their taxes until their faction owns the territory next.
Huh? Aeternum IS on earth in the 17th century. This is a snippet from a DEV description of the game: land modeled after the Americas in the 17th Century .
Look at the Armor, Ships, Buildings, etc. Literally everything is from Earth. It’s just that the Island is mysterious and was discovered with magical properties ( Azoth ). My interpretation of the Island, and just mine, is that it “could” be an Island that just materialized somewhere within the Bermuda Triangle where things have been disappearing for centuries. It’s “our” adventure to find out why since we just crashed on it, basically disappearing from the “real” world like others have for Centuries.
Who knows? It “could” be like that.
@Mijorius Thanks for the reply, I see what you are saying but this is what I was referencing, nothing about Aeturnam being Earth. Thanks though.
Pulled from NewWorld FAQs. "Is New World based on real history?
No. New World is set in an alternate-history in the twilight of the Age of Exploration, and takes place on the fictional and supernatural island of Aeternum in the 17th century."
