This 1.8.1 update is just another changing the meta strategy. I HAD IT! I’ve given this game 2.5k hours of my life since launch, I spent millions in gold to try to craft something worth using in PVP, all I got was a lousy GA with ref move ts and mortal forty. Everything else I use is either named or purchased from TP. Hundreds of crafts rolling irrelevant perks just for the sake of playing roulette. No thanks, I never liked gambling anyway. The game still feels unrewarding after almost a year and a half. Brimstone gave me a new purpose with the run for those golden scarabs, which was fun because I never found purpose to chest runs anyway (IMO chest runs are a source of income for the elite players who just earn tax money and spend it on TP and a complete waste of time after a certain point of the game) which are capped at 10 per day. I never got more then 5 once, in a day, the average being 2 per day, so I stacked them into hoping these will give me a better chance to roll a better item, a ITEM, not items. So I took an attempt of crafting bows lately, 50 ironwood bows using scarabs with attunement(arboreal cuz people like nature
) and keenly jagged as my perk selection. Out of 50 crafts, 5 were legendary, out of which 1 had keen which has the highest chance to roll, the others had bane perks and some other crap which no one uses since hatchet is a mandatory weapon in any mutation due to the resistances being removed from mobs for meta diversity. Name one M10 expedition that doesn’t have a hatchet requirement from players, I’ll wait.
But even if I did manage to roll a BiS bow, worth hundreds of thousands of gold, here comes gear score scaling in OPR and arenas!!! Result? 50 scarabs / 2 per day average means 25 days of doing complete brimstone elite chest runs (2-3 hours only for that farm) wasted, just for a 38k bow I manage to sell out of the 5 cuz no one buys the others since they’re trash.
Hundreds of thousand umbral shards spent to get access to a place that gives me access to materials to increase my item’s power (Umbral shards), just so it can be scaled to someone who’s played the game for 2-3 weeks, bought full 590 gear with resi, shirking forty and some other cheap 5k 2perk items from TP, spent 3-4 days of gypsum cast to make them 600gs and complained on forum that they’re not having fun on their 1 hour experience with the game because they’re not doing any damage and get a lot in return. Then left the game 'cuz he wanted to try some of the other shooter games and gave New World a try
.
The 50 bow craft wasn’t the only craft I made with a high money value of the materials invested, this one was arround 600k on my server (I never played in a company that owned a territory so everything was farmed). And to find out what? That since December, but actually since ever, big companies kept secrets and rolled exploits to dupe passives on their weapons, with no remorse of getting banned, and called themselves elite by recruiting all possible players from the server and then ditching them and leaving with easy cash from taxes that has been gathering in their vault on everyone else’s efforts. What an awesome way of pissing into someone’s face but the game allows it, while others farm their way into items for hundreds of hours, just to get spam C’ed by someone called elite and abusing exploits. Now you’re making a patch update to fix (hopefully) this exploit but without any punishment to the abusers. Guess what? They’ll find a new way to exploit since nothing happens to them.
Bots running and skipping “Gleamite” since launch without anything happening to them either (even worse, people that have never used a 3P autofarm software get perma banned lately because of some new bug that is happening while they log-in or have been report abused by others and the abusers don’t get punished at all).
I’m done, I’M DONE playing a game that is unbalanced in every aspect, that plans to fix a game changing bug without making any investigation of those who abused it and not punishing them (the passive bug is not the 1st exploit unpunished, see the 600GS guaranteed crafts bug, or the TP purchase multiplier bug), a game that plans to add a wardrobe as a game feature (transmog?!?! how many hours will go into this to be developed and for what???) while having sold skins for the past year and a half.

I’ve seen this notable fix at least 3 more times in the past being fixed, now it’s a notable fix again?
Please check how is this even fixed, take a few companions a-long-side with you (2-3):
A game that listens to every cry baby on forum and makes changes without taking into consideration the slightest idea of how it will affect the others and the game, and this is not only the gear scaling in OPR and arenas, look at all these brimstone named items being changed because someone complained about it, example:
- Heart of Maahebgal had Slash dmg, keen awarness and hearty perks at Brimstone release, someone complained on forum, AGS said it has an illegal perk combination and planned to change it by removing Keen awarness:

FYI: Poisoning perk increases the duration and not DECREASES, like you stated. It says on the perk description! (Probably some janitor from the company was set-up to write all these while everyone was on holiday).

BUT! it gets even more better:
Wait a second…I thought these were illegal! Not if no one complains about it!
The shell company mitigation did nothing but to split company A owning 5 territories, into companies A1, A2 and A3LOL owning 5 territories.
The major combat artifacts shards has made those boss/mobs farms like cutting wood around the city until you get it done. Not to mention it has pissed a lot of people that already spent hundreds of hours to farm those artifacts.
The legendary shields are still in-game now and no new player will ever be able to get their hands on one. (I remember this was removed in some previous patches, apparently someone found a way of making it work so today we’re getting a new patch that REMOVES these 5 perk shields once and for all! ![]()

I’m not surprised about this since every new mutation added to the game has had the same issue:
Luck still has no benefit other than roulette luck, you win or you don’t, just push harder and you’ll succeed!
I had fun times with the people I played the game with, but the more I played, the more I found out that it’s just black jack with cool pixels.
Hands down to the design team which have created an amazing world with all the scenery(the only good part of the game, for which 80% of the players enjoy it).
Here are a few more things that didn’t get any attention:

since Winter convergence patch, sometimes my character gets bugged and does not get any ground damage from acid pools, scorching ground or arcane grounds the ancient mages place,

sometimes when I dodge, it sends my character flying 20m in the dodge direction,

swapping weapons fast causes my fps to drop to 10 and swapping weapons normally creates a lag spike,
-
there are still failed craft attempts (needs another notable fix),
-
I was killed several times while being PVP flagged and entering shrine and standing inside it, by another PVP flagged player, the PVP flag would not reset,
-
sliding dodge bug is currently being abused by players to move quickly from side to side,
-
thanks for adding the perk search toolbar to the TP, would be a shame if there was a similar one for the Storage,
-
gypsum casts still roll 600gs items while being Rare or Epic (notably fixed on last patch).
I hope to hear only good things about this game next year. Until then I’m out.
