New World - Anti Cheat / Discipline

The on-going thesis from players I’ve encountered is that new world does not enforce it’s rules. There is one exception, item duplication.

I do wish New World would be more forthcoming regarding the (hopefully) approach it is taking to be proactive in dealing with cheats and rule breakers vs reactive.

A good way of restoring some sort of faith from the community may have been to include in the yearly stats how many accounts were banned for cheating, botting, etc.

Almost every other post on here is a gripe about an exploit, aim bot muskets or something wrong with the OPR.

Speaking of which, and forgive me for going off topic, can we get additional MAPS for OPR? Small quality updates vs waiting 6-7 months for a major update would be a very much needed breath of fresh air.

Back on topic, I feel the community out reach team is failing in retaining players trust and the developers in charge of anti cheat are failing to deal with any of the numerous cheats out there.

The overall negativity on the forums is a direct correlation to player count and retention. I want new world to be successful and I do enjoy the game, please help restore trust within the community.

/end rant.

Unequal enforcement (or lack thereof) of the Code of Conduct is a pretty contentious issue for veteran players and new players alike. AGS could improve their communication to players about enforcement penalties, in an anonymized way, each time they do one of these Youtube videos.

Additionally, some form of validation, like the below two samples, would greatly incentivize adherence to the Code of Conduct. Players who accurately reported suspected violations of the Code of Conduct would feel that their reports were received and validated. Players who inaccurately reported suspected violations would have a better understanding of what is/is not a violation of the Code of Conduct.

Both of those would be great to see implemented. At this stage in the games growth or decline, there is a very large trend emerging. I am hopeful, however skeptical based on track record, that we will finally see discipline happen to exploiters and code of conduct rule breaks.

Looking back, New World has always struggled with consistency on player discipline. They tried to automate it in the begging, however this resulted in numerous false bans due to spam reports. I believe I also read a more recent post insinuating this is still occurring.

From a financial basis, I understand you only have so much funding and where to divide those pie slices so to speak. Right now, it feels like player discipline and upholding rules is not even a slice. The only time it gets crumbs, it is when there is duplication happening.

My ideal suggestion for New World would be for Major Developments to slowly come into development (15%). Small quality of life developments (25%) - think linked storage instead of territory, new OPR maps/3v3 arenas. Reviewing, debugging and fixing weapon exploitation code (35%). Community outreach involving player validation and accountability. This involves changing the narrative of the community and game (25%).

As it stands, due to the hilarious and outrageous amount of people abusing with lack of publicly shared consistent punishment, I am left to believe these are no longer to be considered bugs or abuse. I will instead look at them as intended features and game play, because if it were to be abuse, there is zero tolerance for the administration to not have addressed by now.

I agree with the rest of your post, but I do not condone considering an exploited bug a “feature”. That is a slippery slope that leads you into becoming the very thing you despise, a cheater. Keep the high road, brother!

I will not use it nor do I encourage it. However the lack of action and course of events from the administration has led me to believe these actions are the intended use for gameplay. With how widespread it is in the community (I.e. every other post talking about opr/3v3/musket/bow/etc), it has became the official meta for those builds regardless. Just hoping to see some transparency and action arise from the staff.

My apologies for my misunderstanding! I too hope to see transparency and strict enforcement action from the AGS moderations staff!

Very well written. I feel like a lot of people that have left the game or are contemplating doing so very much agree. It’s super frustrating and lack of response against cheating is losing players daily.

I love this game but Amazon staff is so … carebear.

Were so many exploits and so far I personally never heard anybody getting permanent ban for abusing exploits, hacks, bots.
The only permanent bans were given 3 dupe wave ago and 2 dupe wave ago. First waves and last wave we dont even know if a single person got banned or not.
At beginning were people temporary banned 3days, 7days or 14days and few of them ‘escaped’ with duped items after ban expired.

New World is in the Most Popular Games on all ‘aim-bot’ cheating forums/sites where people pay subscription of 50$ per month for MORE THAN A YEAR!!! And I cant explain WHY those sites/forums are not shut down?!?!?!

Amazon never permanently ban people for abusing exploits or using hacks.
The only bans are the automatic bans from multiple reports, and those bans are usually 3 days or 7 days.

List can continue, were companies selling territories as ‘company name’ (example company name “WTS Everfall for real money”) and NOBODY got banned because of it. This happened before changing of income, when Everfall and Windsward were TOP incoming territories.

Many big companies bought accounts from 3rd party forum/sites when announced the changes on Territory War system. Amazon never cared about that.

and about bot.
its annoying. reporting someone as bot its never got banned. u can check every iron ore on every server there is alot of bot. they didnt talk. they keep spaming klick resouce even we steal it that bot will keep sampinging E.
