Anyone that’s using HWINFO to monitor can you report what TDP normalised is. Mine peaks at 115% but the normal TDP figure is 98%.

Just confirming this is normal ?

So I’ve been keeping in touch with a moderator here on the forums who has been really helpful and transparent in what’s happening with the dev team and I really appreciate the honesty coming from @DevonK . Thanks @DevonK !! =)
I’ve been told the matter is still being looked into and they’re still working on a fix, here’s what was said:

We understand how that answer might come up as misleading.
I have personally escalated this and got a similar response.
Devs havent found an specific line of code or technicall issue or reason that might spark this on the PCs.
Although we are not saying there is no way this is our fault, we just havent been able to point it in our end.
So, what NW_mugsy is saying is actually a solution for the meantime, since we are currently investigating whats going on.
We are sorry if you feel mislead about this whole issue, not our intention.
But we hope you can understand that while we havent properly identified the why or what causes this, the best thing is to offer the solution we have on hands.
This doesnt mean this is going to continue happening, as I mentioned we are investigating and polishing the game but we cant offer a different answer for now.

We have been gathering logs and all the info posible, so you can trust that this is being worked on and that we will offer the promised experience.

You might try my fix. I’ve had zero problems after doing this for my GTX 1050 Ti.

I am fairly confident I fixed my game freeze issue!! I purposely waited 24 hours, after plenty of playtime, to make sure I wasn’t crazy and this fix is stable. Backstory: I played beta in early September and had zero freezing issues on medium settings and an overclocked GTX 1050 Ti. I had 2 Blackscreens / Fan @ 100% on a GeForce RTX 3090 VISION OC 24G. Crazy powerspikes (image above) at a powerlimit of 100%.

Since i reduced the powerlimit to 70% (+framecap @60fps) the game runs stable, no more crashes. Powerspikes still over 100%, but the power consumption stays under 320-330W.

I’d RMA your card - you shouldn’t have to kill it’s advertised performance to make it run stable.

Note that I still had the problem sometimes when capping the power as much as 50%.

You are better off getting your card swapped/fixed early in your warranty - especially if your supplier is still responsible.

Thanks for your comments, I have been away for a couple of days and havent really had time to watch the forums. Yeah, I think that I will go for a warranty, but I dont want to bust it since it´s near impossible to get a new one in reasonable time. But I´ll check back after I get some comments from either the retailer or EVGA on this.

I still seems to have this issue from time to time even with power target at 70%, it seems to only happen when I boot the game from steam when going to the main menu or when pressing the button to login to the server.

Once I am in the game and can actually do things it seems to run quite stable at 120 fps (capped 120 in nvdia), and it is not overheating or anything it stays at 72° to 78°.

I also capped frames at 60° to see if it wouldl still occur after this.

Hola de nuevo,16gbs de Ram y Aourus Gtx1080ti Extreme Edition 11Gbs ,despues de de días de pruebas y solo porder jugar a resolucion 2560x1440 y gaficos en Bajo, decidí poner 3 ventiladores mas a mi PC en total 5, para mi sorpresa puedo jugar hasta ahora en resolución 2560x1600 con todo en alto y 60fps estables todo ello sin problemas ni fallos,un saludo.

Hey guys, my MSI 980ti just died an hour ago while playing New World. The card was running great until I started playing New World, i got sometimes blackscreens etc. never thought about it. Today my card got fried and is no more usable. Im 100% the card broke because of the game.

Played NW pretty much exclusively since its release. Few days ago my pc completely froze, and my MSI ROG 1080TI lost most of it processing power since. Cannot play any graphics card heavy titles anymore, In NW i could play at 95 fps outside of cities on most settings maxed, after crash i can get max 60 fps - after lowering everything to low. Similarly fps in Cyberpunk dropped from 70 to 30. Waiting for my paycheck, so i can send pc to repair.

I’ll add my POV too since i’m an owner of a RTX 2070 + a ryzen 5800x. The game is usually smooth ngl but the thing is sometimes the game just randomly crash without any reason ! It’s the only game on my specs doing this, I can play F1 2021, RDR2, Star Wars, Cyberpunk & some others without any problem !

Just an update on my status. I got a replacement card under warranty. Took 4 weeks

Everything turned back to maximum quality, running at 5120x1440, no issues so far.

I’m at 2080mhz on my 3080, no issues at all, so it’s not gpu… maybe poor ram causes bad juju

Same problem here, sometimes i cant even enter the game as others run soomthly, 32gb Kingstin hyperx, 1080 evga, ryzen5 etc. But after the last update this became ricdiculous frequente i cant even play for 10 min before i get the BSOD.

Same here. 3080 and no issues at all since launch.
Bad soldering & manufacturing seems far more likely than anything AGS is doing.
