I always hear people say; “the game starts at level 60!”. And i’ve hit level 60 last week. The past week i’ve been doing elite runs, daily topaz gypsum and tried some skilling. The elite runs i still kind of enjoy but it’s getting a bit repetitive. The skilling kind of sucks because for the majority of the skills you buy alot of stuff, hit 1 button and boom you’re level 200 armoring.
Am i missing out on something? I can’t do expeditions because people ask for 600 gearscore. Don’t get me wrong, i am enjoying the game and i really want to continue playing but i have a feeling i’m missing something and enjoyed leveling up my character level more.
Welcome to the realization that the journey is the reward. Virtually every game on the market has this “endgame problem”. The most fun I have in these games comes from the satisfaction of earned progression. Once progression stops, the fun stops. So called “horizontal progression” isn’t satisfying enough, vertical is what drives me. Level up a different character and see how much fun you have again.
About dungeons just make your own party. Codex in MmOgames says„ your party your rules” You cant force people to take you. Crafting emm yes reaching 200 lvl is really easy you need only gold, but you can do it in longer and 100 times cheaper way and collect mats on your own.
Goal is to get to 600 expertise, then to 625 on 4 ward sets for dungeons.
If you want to do pvp, you need to master a couple weapon combos, and get them to full BIS with 625. If wars interest you, then you need to join up with a solid company that is pretty pvp oriented.
All while trying to make gold and max out refining at the very least. Then getting the gear set for each refining type.
If you want to craft, need to get 200 on whatever profession, the gear for it, and the trophys. However, crafting is an insane gamble, and it’s hard to make gold off it (me and lots of others still do though)
The game is a heck of a grind…and fun to us that enjoy the grind.
Idk, it’s all just weird to me and maybe i’m not used to it but i don’t really see a clear goal. I’m not a big fan of pvp at all. And trust me, i’ve played games with a FAR bigger grind but atleast it was really rewarding and you had sense of progression. The main goal of this post isn’t to shit on new world in any way, just asking what the real “end game” is supposed to be, i genuinely have no real idea on what to do right now. Is there more to do other then outpost rush, elite runs, expeditions etc?
I feel the same. Sadly I can’t level up another chr as all the servers are locked. I could delete my character but then I’d miss the grind for the Halloween skins. Doh!
I’ve been trying to complete achievements and farm for named gear pieces, maybe that could be something to do.
Also it’s just a few more days until Brimstone which will give you loads of new stuff to do and grind for
This game is like sandbox MMO… do what you want, progress on your own pace, upgrade your staff… there is no clear goal. That is my feeling about this game, which I really like. I quit Lost Ark because it was more grindy, repetetive and they forced me to do static raids over n over to progress… Just an example no offence against LAO enjoyers.
I hear you. I’ve done 3 elite runs opening chests now and it’s very dull. I’ve never even got into a group whilst waiting outside, despite respectfully requesting a spot if possible. No one communicates at all. Seems very odd… I’ve just had to follow them solo tbh but it’s not fun zerging content. I wish that they scaled mobs by the number of people within the vicinity, it’ll make people work as a team, I would hope. I saw a few people just follow behind, tag the boss and then hide until it’s loot time…
Levelling on the other hand was the exact opposite! I’ve never had as much fun in any game levelling as I do in NW. I hate realistic graphics and prefer colourful aesthetics like WoW, Fortnite: Save the World, Satisfactory and No Mans Sky but NW is breathtaking and when I look back in 10-20 years time I can imagine it still looking as great as it does today. sadly, outside of this it feels a cold hard product designed by a business, not people that love games. I think this is their achilleas heal and it needs addressing imho.
By “game starts after lvl 60” ppl never said its getting better. What they had on mind is: now the work begins. Now it time where you have to build up your character for pvp/pve content.
End game is quite ok but they should make pvp more rewarding (open world pvp, OPR, arena, some new content maybe). Also they should buff a bit armors from pvp track - shirking heal is not good enough.
plenty of regular dungeons runs but like others have suggested make your own lobby or go with guildies. best time will be about 3-4 days after mutation dungeon switch when some people have done all the mutations they can do. we were doing expeditions with 525 gear from faction venders so it’s not as hard as people make it out. try for lazarus first since it’s probably the easiest to do.
Yeah completely agree, however i’ve never had any issues with elite runs. Just make a group yourself, never been in an elite run without a group.
And yeah i’ve leveled my account just by doing quests and random stuff. Now that i’m 60 the quests feel useless so i stopped doing them completely. I wish they had a feature in the journal that showed available quests and the possible rewards of the quest. Maybe some more quests that give resources/skilling supplies or skilling outfits like the fishing quest (which i really enjoyed).
The game looks absolutely amazing, i 100% agree on that one. Never played a game that looked this good and especially with the sounds of trees falling, people mining in the distance etc.
