This game is like sandbox MMO… do what you want, progress on your own pace, upgrade your staff… there is no clear goal. That is my feeling about this game, which I really like. I quit Lost Ark because it was more grindy, repetetive and they forced me to do static raids over n over to progress… Just an example no offence against LAO enjoyers.
I hear you. I’ve done 3 elite runs opening chests now and it’s very dull. I’ve never even got into a group whilst waiting outside, despite respectfully requesting a spot if possible. No one communicates at all. Seems very odd… I’ve just had to follow them solo tbh but it’s not fun zerging content. I wish that they scaled mobs by the number of people within the vicinity, it’ll make people work as a team, I would hope. I saw a few people just follow behind, tag the boss and then hide until it’s loot time…
Levelling on the other hand was the exact opposite! I’ve never had as much fun in any game levelling as I do in NW. I hate realistic graphics and prefer colourful aesthetics like WoW, Fortnite: Save the World, Satisfactory and No Mans Sky but NW is breathtaking and when I look back in 10-20 years time I can imagine it still looking as great as it does today.
sadly, outside of this it feels a cold hard product designed by a business, not people that love games. I think this is their achilleas heal and it needs addressing imho.
Elite zones were much harder months ago but people were crying and they nerfed them a lot xd.
By “game starts after lvl 60” ppl never said its getting better. What they had on mind is: now the work begins. Now it time where you have to build up your character for pvp/pve content.
End game is quite ok but they should make pvp more rewarding (open world pvp, OPR, arena, some new content maybe). Also they should buff a bit armors from pvp track - shirking heal is not good enough.
PvP servers would be the best way to do that. ![]()
Maybe but I think that better will be some PK system and overall more rewarding pvp.
plenty of regular dungeons runs but like others have suggested make your own lobby or go with guildies. best time will be about 3-4 days after mutation dungeon switch when some people have done all the mutations they can do. we were doing expeditions with 525 gear from faction venders so it’s not as hard as people make it out. try for lazarus first since it’s probably the easiest to do.
Yeah i’ve heard that alot, but i’ve also heard that “at level 60 the game gets fun” atleast 50 times.
Yea its fun when you are dont with griding expertise. So you stat collecting items for you builds pvp and pve xd
Yeah completely agree, however i’ve never had any issues with elite runs. Just make a group yourself, never been in an elite run without a group.
And yeah i’ve leveled my account just by doing quests and random stuff. Now that i’m 60 the quests feel useless so i stopped doing them completely. I wish they had a feature in the journal that showed available quests and the possible rewards of the quest. Maybe some more quests that give resources/skilling supplies or skilling outfits like the fishing quest (which i really enjoyed).
The game looks absolutely amazing, i 100% agree on that one. Never played a game that looked this good and especially with the sounds of trees falling, people mining in the distance etc.
That’s my take too. It feels as though you’re “in” the game. ![]()
I agree that having quests that reward crafting items would be good. 1000 wood or iron would be great. Maybe quests that give resources that bots stalk would be a great counter? ![]()
New World is a good example of a game which starts at level 1 though. A lot of what you will likely be doing post 60, is going to be the same as pre 60.
You do get access to some extra content, think OPR, a set of new dungeons. And you get to continue boosting expertise. But beyond that, a lot remains the same.
The lobby system for expeditions is certainly a poor implementation. Best is to just create the lobby yourself, that way you can set the requirements.
As far as trade skills are concerned, personally I choose to just work them up fully myself. It takes more time, but feels more rewarding than just buying the mats in bulk. It also makes you venture out into the world a lot more, which if you ask me is a major plus in this game.
“Create your own fun” is the name of New World.
Main end game things - invasions, let you defend the fort without needing to be PvPer, solo running through Myrkgard for farming chests and oricalcum ore, solo running scorchvein mines mines including killing the elite chest guards, solo sirens runs, solo boss farming - some are easier and some are harder, outpost rush for PvP though you will need to get passable gear to do anything, getting your hold up by selling stuff, getting all the guitar songs cause they’re the only ones that sound good solo, prepping for brimstone.
Don’t bother with wars cause all the top pvpers have thousands of hours and are millions of gold ahead of you and god roll armour and weapons which you will never be able to compete with, plus territory influence pushes are really boring.
Thanks alot for this info!
There is no definitive answer to this, you should do what you enjoy in the game while getting at least some progression out of it.
You said you love the game world and enjoyed the questing, and you are still below 600 expertise. Well, instead of buying all your mats, go gather some out in the world you love and this will also get you 2 gypsum each day for expertise (diamond and emerald). Do 3 faction missions each day for the bonus reward which will let you buy 2 more gypsum from the faction vendor. Get your topaz and obsidium gypsum each day, you can do that just being out in the open word.
Elite trains are great, but if you find them dull maybe just only do 1 area at a time and then go do other things. If you want to get into expeditions but aren’t ready for the level 60s yet, do dynasty shipyard. Its 55, you’ll get into groups no problem and you’ll get some occasional expertise bumps in it while still low.
There’s lots to do and enjoy, you don’t always have to make the game about efficiency.
I could be wrong but the end game for a fresh 60 is staying behind brimstone release for 6 months if you haven’t got the shopping list above of warded armour, capped exp and 600+ gear x 4sets?
According to the video about legendary weapons
supposedly mostly group play, rough for solos just being there if they’re not been sitting in m10’s for months with all they gear sets already
bare in mind that due to no lvl increase I guess the 600 gs, 600-625 GS threshold will get stretched by the time you reach it.
I’m sure someone will enlighten me, that brimstone seems essentially locked from returning players unless they left juiced and prepped already prior.
This is the part that, in my opinion, breaks endgame for a lot of MMOs, and it’s a tough nut to crack. If players had to go farm all the resources they needed in order to level their skills to 200, it would be a very different story.
Granted, the amount of resources gathered from, number of nodes, crafting progression, etc. would have to be rebalanced, and the experience would be very different.
There’s a common thread in a lot of “there is no endgame” posts I see in the forums for a lot of MMOs that trends towards, “I raced as fast as I could to max level, raced as fast as I could get BiS gear, maxed all my skills the most efficient way possible, and now I have nothing to do.”
It’s a real problem in the MMO ecosystem, that there are these rich game worlds that largely get ignored because of this focus on turning the game into an engine for rapid progression as opposed to the quasi-RP experience of taking one’s time and enjoying all the game has to offer.
Buy yourself a cheap ward set (literally the only perks that matter is ward) for like 2k total, and start your own group for expeditions
people ask for 600gs because they expect people to be bad/have no ward gear
