What AGS has is two sets of players wanting to play (parts of) the same game. AGS should have released a PvP game and a single player New World open world RPG later when the world was larger and questing more robust.
AGS already knows this (HOW could they not) but the real issue with New World is two groups of players like the game.
One group wants full loot PvP. It was in Alpha and many people complained.
But I understand many people like full loot games.
The other group are PvE players. When a potential player reads about the game or asks if it is PvE, the answer is yes. Flagging is optional.
However there are several things about the game that still work better if you PvP alot.
The whole territory /town taxes is not great in a PvE game. People complain about those features a lot.
If AGS rrally wants to have a PvE optional game they should strip out a few leftover PvP features.
OR
Make PvP servers / dedicated PvP zones in the game with high risk rewards.
Imho the pro’s in new World is the beautiful World and the Combat system. The PvE Part, especially the dungeons and the mechanics can’t compare with other MMORPGs.
Since May we only get PvE content, now it’s time to do something for the PvP part

boss: so we have 10 people in our team how many games can we make for a lot of $$
billy:we cant split our team resources so we can make only one game. Are we making a single player game?
boss: but we can sell so much things in the cash shop and milk the community every 2 years for one expansion if we make it online
billy: so we are making it online then. so are we making it PVP or PVE?
boss: PVE have the biggest player pool, and there is some people that like both sides, so more money…so we are making it PVX with more PVE elements. how long do you need?
billy: 10 years
boss: you have 5 years
billy: but it is not going to be done
don’t you think we have too much topics about weapon imbalance to be asking about a pvp zone?
can we say the weapon/gear systems are ready to implement more PVP systems, to make the community happy for a long period of time, and even get more people
At this point, full loot wouldn’t work in new world without AGS dedicating a lot of resources to the game-mode, which they are not going to do.
At best, I think they could add a new PvP zone where the gear/resources you collect are “corrupted” and you cannot use them until they are cleansed at a safe spot, and when you die you drop all of your ”corrupted” items. I think it would work well in new world.
This was beaten a year ago in the ground I think. New World was designed around PvP, full loot corpse, full time PvP. Every foundation of the game is designed around this. It was a last minute redirection where the game veered off to PvE cut and paste on top of this world designed for something entirely different from the ground up.
PvP players want this original game that was being designed. Now we have some theme park hodge podge melting pot of stuff with no depth.
You have a few very vocal people… It’s the same people who wonder why more people don’t play EVE (full loot PVP)… People don’t want to deal with the PvP, because it attracts the most toxic players.
Most people are to afraid or Can not make it out with their ego to get killed by a real person. It’s not the people who kill you that become toxic. It is the people who are killed. Most pvpler are used to get killed and can handle it. Pveers dont. I got so many DM’s from PvE Players who flamed me cause i attacked them.“Whats wrong with you?” “Are you dumb, why you attacking me?”
And These are the harmlees DM’s. While If you get a DM from a pvper its Most of the time Just a “GG”
