Don’t fool yourself into thinking this. If it doesn’t make business sense to keep it running they will stop it. Yes they will keep the servers live but they will stop all development if it’s costing too much and not making a return.
I love this game and hope it lives a long and healthy life. I hope development picks up and gives people hope.
Ignoring performance issues, Game is on a good spot.
Not even a single realistic mmo with action combat is comming in the Closer future. Those Big names are not direct competitors, many people cant move back to another type of combat since new world is also a fact.
We Will see another population growment once ppl check those new titles and cant feel fully satisfied.
I think people can be very satisfied with a game with all kinds of combat, New World combat is okay but it’s not killing great MMOs. Don’t kid yourself, and it’s lacking content in a major way.
The thing is many people still have the idea that a new mmo will appear and magically will bring all kind of mmo players toghether for another decade on the same game, but it will not happen never ever again. Mostly replay the same game for nostalgia or simply as a daily habit.
Neither confuse me with a white knight of AGS, i’ll never buy any product from this company nor pay a single euro for a expansion untill they show proper manners on their acts.
A lottttttt of people are just looking for massive open world pvp that doesnt lag. And/or competitve/ranked/MMR/yoloqueue with a good class/balance system thats actively being worked on.
Hell it can even be instanced. It just needs to be available and once again, Not lag. Or desync. Whatever studio or game does this first with UE5 will change the gaming world, and then HOPEFULLY itll start a new standard and were in for the golden days era of video games.
Thats of course if corporate monetization and passionless devs can keep their hands off.
Definitely some cope and hopium in there, but wouldnt it be nice?
I think yes. The posts are very rude with the game and devs. The critics are high. The features AGS implement are not the favourites or expected in first place by players.
But
I have to admit that the game changed a lot from what it was to what it is now.
I think the changes they implement are very significant and good.
I think New World is going to get better and better, that is for sure.
But sometimes is like a race. Is like if new world devs doesn’t find the next right feature to really catch a lot of players before they all leave then is going to die.
In my opinion I have the feeling that new world is like a step behind to give with the right feature that would bring players to play for a long time.
I think the problem right now is that most of the content requires a lot of grinding. The crafting system is also based on grinding. And I think if they change this kind of stuff it will make the game better.
I’m playing again after some months of pause. I’m doing some pve, trying to be more active in a guild to do wars, but my main activities are OPR and Arenas. Even if I’m very mediocre.
I wish I would get more umbral shards doing this activities to level up my gear GS.
The Quinfall game looks amazing with just about everything anyone could want in an MMO RPG, which seems to be why so many people seem to think it is fake.
I personally would expect it to be at least another year, possibly 2 or 3 before it comes out fully but the beta, which is supposed to be coming out this year, will tell us if it is worth waiting for.
