About economy, its amazing that they tried to re-invent the wheel with such a mixture. You can have a player driven economy with separate markets in big servers (eve online, albion online…).
Specially in a map like the NW one, with traveling cost stupidly high (not so much now, but still) , you need to give something to people to stablish in different places around the map, not just in the center, avoiding the corners. It’s easy as fuck, and many games have addressed this giving different perks/buffs to different cities.
And like this, you can think of many different approach to all of the main problems this game is suffering that have already been fixed by many other games before, but no. NW devs had to try their own way just to fail miserably.
The combat mechanics are cool as fuck if they worked properly. You didnt have to invent a single shit with the gameplay. A system like M+ from wow would do wonders, but instead we have the orbs. And so on…
You are correct. It is 60-65k over the last week. Avg about 58k over the last 30 days. Down from the 70k, 80k, 120k, 900k. See the trend? New game launches early access tomorrow. Lets see how the numbers look the next few days and then again the rest of the month.
I completely agree with this. I doubt there’s anything that could ever hype me up enough again to try New World, until it’s been fixed for several months and there’s a track record of good gameplay. I’ll never re-buy or restart this game from the beginning. I have no faith that it will be good. It has to be proven now.
Now I wouldn’t say this a month ago, but all the content released is completely in the wrong order. With this new patch implementing umbral shards might have seemed like a good idea - ended up being a complete disaster. Prior before increasing the gear score, new content should have been released to back the grind needed. Mutations have created a huge diversity in players that can afford to participate versus those who simply can’t afford to buy runs once their orb has been used. Before the mutations they should have released:
new zones
new expeditions
fixed all the previous bugs
more instanced PvP content
rated PvP content
open world PvP events
The list goes on. Instead of implementing another useless grind, they should have polished on what they already had. Mutations would have been a great idea a year from now, but was 100% released too early.
A few more months/years this game will not exist… if it does it has gone from B2P to F2P with heavy micros…
That’s what has been foretold to happen and seeing as how every single other thing that was foreseen to happen has to come to pass… I’d say were right on track lol
I think you should either re-read my post, or… OR!.. re-learn how to read entirely.
I never said that YOU specifically spam everywhere. But you did create, just like many others like you, this useless post about the same thing.
As I said - move on, geez. Are you really this beefheaded?
It would absolutely be the best thing for this game, given that this has been an extended beta thus far.
Not a chance I would come back to have to compete with the numerous (probably over 70%) people that achieved their expertise by abusing busted game mechanics, buying gold, owning WW/EF for any period of time, or just botting themselves.
Only solutions are a total wipe and rework (best option imo); or make a fresh-start server (maybe even a dedicated pvp server) where nobody can transfer in (weaker option imo since the game will still blow without an overhaul).
I’m still playing NW, but I’ve decided I’m not going to spend any more money on it until I see if they go in a direction that interests me. To keep playing this game long term, I’m going to need some more content and QoL adjustments.
some ppls don´t start over right but most of the ppls have stoped playing way with lower gametime. So the 1000 ppls that stop playing are not counting for a rerelease strategie as they could not keep the game alive.
Personally I was hoping they would continue with the skill-based part of the game and make the progression based on your weapon skills and add more so called elite skills. So instead of grinding GS, you would grind your weapon and (new) armor skills, making you progressively more powerful, using an exponential curve making it more and more difficult to progress, in whatever skill you are using, instead of random drops.
This could go hand in hand with gear progression, without the feel that you have to grind gear.
FFXIV didn’t even do that though. They let ppl play for free for like a year while they updated things. And then let ppl keep their progress when arr came out.
