You are 100% incorrect. WoW is not p2w. If you call buying gold legally and then pay for runs does not make it p2w. You see, someone still has to run this person through content and there is ZERO guarantee they will get the item they want let alone any items. The only guarantees would be a title if they didn’t get it yet and a mount if it is a 100% drop. Last I checked a title and mount doesn’t make you win.
People buy gold from gold sellers. It is no different at all except they can buy BiS items making NW a lot more P2W than WoW and other mmos. They can also use this gold they bought for shards upgrading their items to 625 which makes it P2W also. In WoW right now the only BiS you can buy for gold is your legendary, however, you still have to play to earn the other crafting reagents needed which you cannot buy with gold.
I love New World but people who seem to throw the term Pay 2 Win around so loosely obviously has 0 clue what actual p2w really is.

Stop the BS. NW is designed to craft and sell the best gear but not so that you can buy it and instantly be in bis at the max gear score. That’s where the Expertise system stops you.

New World is very much unofficially P2W. AGS don’t do much against RMT or Bots. Meanwhile they make more and more changes that punish players playing legally. While indirectly rewarding people using scripts and RMT services.
Just a heads up a few friends in my BDO guild admitted to buying from RMT sites in New World. In order to compete with the other cheaters. And from my PoV if I wanted to compete with have destroyed the economy is in New World. I would have to buy a prepaid debit card, buy New World on a completely different steam account, than spend about 1,500 USDs on an RMT site, in order to get the services, I need to be able to compete without spending hundreds if not thousands of hours doing content, I don’t enjoy just to get to the content I would enjoy.
Yup New World is indirectly Pay to Advance. You can skip thousands of hours of progressing in as little as 4 hours. You can instantly gear regear your character whenever the meta changes as long as you have enough money.

If New World developers start selling in-game currency officially, that empowers in-game players over other players, then it will be P2W.
Cosmetics are not progression or power.
it’s not pay to win, but it’s pay to equip. If they’d introduce a new level of items above legendaries that is always BoP, that would solve most of the problems with gold and RMT.

P2W game is a game where for real money you can buy your character power in item shop and if more money you spend then more powerful you become currently New World has 0 p2w options.

RMT problem does not make game p2w or not its offical illegal and bannable. Secondly RMT is a problem almost in every game, I am only suprised how stupid people are if they spend that amounts of money ( WHALES?) on pixels ( things which in reality you sint have) and taking risk to be banned and lose everything. Also if someone sont have time to play games, why he spends anything on it ? To play 2-3 hours weekly it does not have any sense to me… esp. For New World. Lets be honest there are better games.

There is RMT that isn’t aggressively attacked and players selling content which is linked to RMT. People are buying there way out of the only content there is. It is the same thing to allow this as to sell it in the shop. RMT is probably the biggest immersion killer a game can have, followed by microtransactions.
