It seems that they have been developing it for the last year at least and it likely will be a while before it’s implemented. At one point I wanted to create an unofficial roadmap based on things they have confirmed and cross-server has absolutely been confirmed it’s just, as you said, a matter of getting it done. I am thinking that it is likely to be instanced content only, which is fine. Them moving wars and invasions into instances was done for many reasons, but I imagine this was another reason? They also have been working on casual war and casual invasion game modes as well. So making it all instanced is likely helping all of that move forward as well.
I’m excited for it all to come together, it’s just early still.
Yes, you can expect the same situation, unless you really, truly expect AGS to find a way to find out of who’s friends with who in the game… .
First come, first serve, is how it works my friend.
Yeah, private instances are obviously easier, because you can essentially copy all the involved players data to another server and do everything locally and privately. It requires the least amount of overhead in terms of development and cost, generally. It’s the right move. Attempting to do more all at once would likely lead to chaos, but that’s just my professional opinion based on limited information.
