Gear does matter in the entire game, just not in these two specific game modes since they are ranked player versus player game modes that allow you to just login and play, giving the type of players who keep the top games on Steam charts in top 1/2 for those game genres are basically the same as this game mode something to do in NW that they actually enjoy. It would also compete with pure survival games.
Also, this is exactly how Lost Ark functions, some of the pvp in Lost Ark does exactly this, equalizes player gear/weapons power wise. So this wouldn’t be a first for Amazon Games.
This system also incentivices world territory domination and makes it so no single faction will try to take over the entire map, they would get satisfied with 3 territories, leaving the other 6 to the other two factions and getting busy with this new mode building, sieging…etc.
Rewards incentivizing controling a forth territory would also be introduced to keep territory wars on-going.
So the game they planned before they made it an “mmo”… I wanna play that game.

They never said they weren’t going to add new and different systems going forward. The old NW game was just a simple full loot PvP survival game, not the foundation it has now which allows it to become an awesome all-in-one game and uniquely and refreshingly so.

Some of these files/data mined things could also possibly be remnants of the older systems within the game or features that may get scrapped in the future. Do not take datamined info as 100% fact or truth.
Post it again on reddit with some proof from the files and people might believe you. Otherwise sounds like wishful thinking.
Not into PVP myself but if true this would make me reconsider it. Probably a pipe dream, but for the millions of players that love PVP on planet earth, you have my hopes and prayers it comes true for you.

God forbid peppe deviate from the beaten features that people are apparently tired off but simultaneously pissed at companies that don’t do it the same exact way.

Have you not understood what’s going on yet? FF14/WoW have dozens more bugs, glitches and exploits than NW. A simple google search will show you that. The difference is the fanboys and companies behind these games protect these games by keeping it all underground instead of talk about it openly. Both Reddit subs for these games are tightly controlled by the devs.
Yeah man, many people have been dreaming of changes like these to happen in New World. Like you said, even non PvP fans will find these activities fun.
