the irony in these situations is the very people that call out those that want to use a mini map as cheaters or casuals that ruin the game, all while complaining and being children about it all.
So using Discord in Faction war is also bannable right?

The New World map website is showing resource nodes as well, which is game data. Is that forbidden? No, it is not.
I’ve read the ToS. The difference is, I did understand what’s written there while you clearly have not as the overlay doesn’t violate anything written down in the ToS (as has been explained several times already).
I used to play WoW, used all sorts of addons, made the mini map bigger, a gathering tracker and so on. All those years ago I remember asking why Blizzard didn’t just make the common addons in game features. Still to this day most games stay generic, it’s like they intentionally are lazy and just let moders add stuff. Maybe someday a MMORPG will release with all those custom goodies at the start.
As for New World I do like the simplicity of the UI but it could use some minor adjustment. Making the compass adjust in size would be nice, maybe add some options for what you want to track. The game really needs more character stats displayed. Like where is my total crit chance?? Or luck totals, just some real basic stuff that would be nice.
Both wrong. Nothing wrong with using a website that shows where the nodes are, that is not the problem with the overlay. It does however read your location, as that does access the game in some way, it is a violation. So use a second monitor or tab out to look at the map if you really need such a thing.

The website accesses the game in some way as well, at least not more or less than the overlay does. The overlay is not getting its coordinates out of the game directly. Is this so hard to understand?
Cool beans. Does the website do it in real time for your server so you know exactly where the goodies are??? or is just a general idea of where you may find nodes?
the location tracker is in real time using game data, if you can prove otherwise go for it. Not sure how else it would know a specific location of one character on one server without some direct interaction with the game

wrong wrong wrong, it doesnt read your location the game itself does. have you ever walked while pressing M to see where u are walking as the map is semi transparent? its the same function. You are trying very hard to see this as a hack. Its simply a little screen with the map overlayed on top. I can do that with word and a png file lol.

We have “mini maps” IRL with our phone now, so yeah, I kinda expect a useful minimap inside a video game.
And yeah, theres SO MANY issues with this game’s UI/UX. Its frustrating.

· Tooltips
· Group Interface
· Layering issues with UI elements
· Cant open the bag while walking
· Compass filtering and bugs
· Quest log
· Probably more but to lazy too keep thinking right now.

I really don’t understand why it’s such a big deal that players have to tap ‘m’ to open your map. It’s not hard. Hell, you don’t even have to stop moving with it open.

Better not use discord while playing with people on the same server. Gives you an unfair advantage because you can voice chat outside of groups at any distance.

‘m’ doesnt show anything and compass is also mostly useless, specially when it decides to stop working entirely.

What is the map supposed to show? Like very randomly the map shows like 3 things like herbs. Is it supposed to be showing a lot more stuff like hemp? I don’t understand this since it’s always shown extremely limited things and I’m at 200 in 3 gathering categories.
I’m pretty sure this map reads coord data from the game so it would be TOS if they decided to pursue it. The difference between the overlay and the map site is the overlay is pulling data from the game (By way of coords) to display your current location on a minimap overlay on top of the game. IF the overlay pulled no data about player position and just displayed node locations similar to the site i think it’d be perfectly fine. but if it is pulling player position that would be reading game data would it not?
Overwolf is trash software. Always has been. The the idea that people are using it just for a minimap is insane.
you know what else is trash? 95% of this game’s UI and people are using it, insane right?
