Game is not ready. Comabt is totaly broken right now. There is also issue with top town gold income, another one with lag when there is 1.2+ ppl on server and more.
I personally just made another Elden Ring toon to start again… Its THAT good.
So “Bug World” has 68 servers currently online with about 25k players, that’s less than 400 players per server averaged out. I don’t know how you can keep afloat with those player-server numbers, especially since there is no subscription to play.
I hope AG$ can keep things going with updates, expansion, etc. but, looking at their track record,it does not look too good…
Leveled off is a nice way of saying flatlined.
I never thought I’d bet on the realm reborn train … But here we are. I think it’s time to scrap all plans and relaunch in the winter (keep servers live but on maintenance mode).
Honestly for me, personally the bones are good.
I think they need to add more open world PVP opportunities, and i would like to see a ranked PVP arena. And i think they could go places with a ranked boss arena, and probably could even make an infinite floor dungeon tower that perpetually gets harder.
There’s very little in the way of equipment on the market below level 60, and when i try to get friends to play the current best method is town boards until their eyes cross. And leveling weapons takes hours grinding pirates or hogs. The “rollercoaster” if you will needs some tweaking to me.
Tweaks to combat and weapons, adding weapons is a very long term thing for me that i’m willing to get over if i know they are working on something with some longevity. But i think the current real problem is not just retaining current players, it’s that they need new players. And the game just isn’t real friendly when it comes to that.
New maps, mobs, weapon and armor skin system, “transmog” or something similar. There are a lot of things i’d like to see eventually.
There’s no way for any of us to know what the issue is because the devs keep everything close to their chests. We don’t even know if they’re actually struggling with the game engine like some people have theorised. All we do know is that they tend to introduce more bugs whenever they try to fix something (e.g weapon swap/skill queuing).
Maybe someday in the future they will tell us what happened.
I actually really enjoy the game but I wish they would’ve spent another year developing it. The entire game could use improvement to appeal to all levels.
Main Story: Extremely stale no idea what’s going on just a running simulator.
End Game: Not much to do besides OPR / Dungeons
Sadly I think the only way to bring people back is to release a massive expansion and making the game free to play
Well they ban between 15-20% of the player base because of the dupe bug. Some of these players deserve the ban because they maliciously posting hundreds of thousands of duped items on the TP to crash the economy but most of them got banned just because they either accidentally duped (it’s very easy to do!), bought duped items by accident and some even got banned for reporting the dupe! Meanwhile out of the 20,000ish people still playing several thousands of them are bots and they’re still running around freely destroying the economy and blocking real players from farming which is an important part of the game. Could you imagine if you invite one of your friends to try this game only to see them unable to level up their crafting/gathering because everything is controlled by bots?
One can even argue against permanent bans at this point because of how dangerously low the player base already. If there should be permanent bans they should be for the botters because they’re not real players anyways.
I predict that the player base will still decline slowly unless something major happen in the game like opening 2-3 new areas and probably increase the level cap and new dungeons or even raid.
Like the great T1 once said “It sucks playing this s*** and im f****** addicted, so i cant quit.”
I haven’t played many MMOs in recent years, but what is the end game like in other MMOs? I was under the impression that people just grind the same handful of dungeons/raids over and over until the developers release new dungeons/raids. Is this incorrect?
This is
nobody who accidentally duped got perm banned. Everyone who duped knew what they were doing and deserve the punishment.
No, I don’t think New World can keep new players in the current state. If it could, they would be here.
I believe a lot of the bugs come from builds getting cross contaminated. I believe the lag comes from having too many calculations all happening at the same time. Also too many nested calculations being the cause of both as well.
People giving different reasons because it could and probably is a lot of things, but none of us work for AGS so none of us actually know.
The pvp combat is so terrible right now. People will quit because of it. Therefore, I disagree that the playerbase has leveled off.
I love the game, played since closed beta. I have a lot of issues with it tbh… The biggest is just a lack of content though. I mainly PvP and mainly play solo. I have an average of 610 GS/expertise(only been earning umbral since February patch). I am doing a daily dungeon and spamming OPR. Aside from that I don’t know what to do with myself…
I came from ESO and love the build in that craft in that game. You literally have no where to play your build though as PvP content is so broken… NW runs like butter in comparison ![]()
For me it’s like… PvP is broken and only getting worse, there is no world PvP, I can’t even make my character look how I want, I have no interest in mutations…
Why am I still playing?
FOMO is why you are playing. The idea that the game at some point could be amazing and if you stop playing you are missing out on doing your cooldowns, getting your gear, whatever other daily chores or whatever your goals are. Then if you came back 6 months later you would essentially be starting over with a long grind to go before you caught back up with others.
that game is actually worse than NW
Partly that. Partly I have nothing else to play…
What a Sad New World.
True. Its either new and crap or old and stale.
