New World PTR Incentives

With the new patch and update, it seems like there were not enough people playing the PTR to test bugs. It seemed like there were never more than 50 players (occasionally a couple hundred) at a time on the PTR. I believe it should be in the best interest of the Devs and Players to have as many people on the PTR as possible. However, it is obvious that many players did not feel like the PTR was worth their time. I believe that the Devs should introduce incentives to actually play on the PTR. It could be items like skins that are only unlocked with a certain amount of hours played on each PTR Patch. Other games like Sea of Thieves have a system like this where if you play a certain amount of time during the month on their Insider Program you can get items for the game. Not saying you should get items, but you should definitely introduce something that would make players feel that it is worth their time to play on the PTR.

Not enough players???
The problem is not FIND the bug.
We have about 5.000 bugs to solve. The problem is AGS and his incompetent dev team.

They released a patch with known bugs

These can both be problems at the same time

I mean… this patch confirmed why the PTR is worthless, at this point the only explanation is that they are not promoting from one environment to another, but rather manually trying to apply changes to both the PTR and Live.

Each patch is worse than the last, this patch was the greatest disaster yet.

There are different costs to craft in PTR compared to Live, there are different bugs on Live compared to the PTR, etc.

I would first like to point out,

1.) We the people who purchased the game in good faith, are NOT the QA team

2.) AGS Has a responsibility to WE the playerbase to NOT release crap code that
has not be thoroughly vetted and tested with production code

3.) The PTR should be the LAST step before release, and it should be a Preview of
upcoming content. NOT the only means of QA and Testing.

If the Devs Listened to ANY of our feedback, they would have prioritized the MANY Existing Bugs before trying to add NEW content. (My Opinion yours may differ)

But it appears they do not. (Shown by their Inaction)

If the Devs would like to offer us In game bonuses for giving some of our game time to Testing their code in the PTR, that would be lovely.

But since we should NOT be expected to QA the game for the Devs, we shouldn’t expect to get paid for doing it.

Thanks for your time!

I 100 percent agree but they obviously need more people to test the game. Amazon needs to expand and invest in the dev team for the game because it’s obvious that they are understaffed to handle the problems for the game.

Most of the bugs on live where not present on PTR. They added and broke stuff last minute without testing it. Don’t blame us when there are failing with release management.

PTR was full with players that tested and reported. But AGS did not fix much, and broke more.

PTS is used by most to gain an advantage on release day. What exploits will they find this patch? If they want a real test bed they go out and interview and find trusted people to actually test the game. In the good ole days to get into a beta or alpha you essentially had to apply to do so like a job. PTS is not a place to play or should not.

This patch should have been in testing a month ago or more and then fixes implemented and the new patch tested etc. At some point some bugs are going to be there. Major software devs know they will never remove all the bugs and those programs go out the door with lots of known issues. Kinda sleazy. Car makers do it too. they put defective crap in cars just to get them out the door and let the consumer and dealer deal with it.
