I do think there is a middle ground for the grind though. Game was definitely too grindy especially at lower levels, expertise, and crafting seemed to be just mind boggling on hitting bis. I know may be a less popular opinion, but the truth of it is without SOME grind in a MMO you will lose players. Plus, like kinda sucks to get a bis item knowing that really it is not that special anymore. On the other hand, with too much grind you lose players. For example, the chances of rolling an item and getting BIS while using all your money yet getting nothing is very disheartening.
On another note, I actually always liked the umbral system and gypsum orbs (again may be a unpopular opinion) but seemed like a good way to do what you want while upgrading gear you CHOSE regardless if it was just getting 1.5k-2.5k umbral a day (without muts). That seemed to be a healthy grind and you saw player progression feedback through the grind: if you opened a gypsum chest at 625 you get 400 and if you open it at 600 you get 100 umbral or whatever it is. You felt the grind was getting more beneficial (same idea applies to mutations , start m1 to m10).
At end of day if every1 is BISed out and there’s nothing left to accomplish, players will diminish. Even more, when PvP players complain about gear and realize that BIS gear is not everything after obtaining it and still get stomped. These players will quit. They have nothing more to obtain, have hit end-game, and realize the other side is not much greener than their previous experiences.
Yes, moving in the right direction. However, steam charts really mean nada. Most games don’t require or even have steam access. Still, 45k is better than 13k. They might make payroll this month. lol
the problem being that since all the mergers your going to lose company mates and friends since they will need to divide the current servers to relieve the cap.
When comes new update definitely there going to be at least 60k peak in weekends. Which mean additional 10-15 servers.
AGS should manage peak player numbers with new servers and mergers carefully.
I am one of those that returned after quitting with nothing but a bad taste left after getting to 60 and being kind of disappointed because me and my friends rly liked the game …
We got back into the game recently as a 500 expertise players now at 590 after few weeks of casual playing the game is completely different and playing it feels fun and rewarding doing daily stuff and etc feels fun again and also cant wait for the expandion…
This also comes from someone who said i will never play it again but never say never … I recommend doing everyone to try the game again if not now then after the exp its great and i hope it will get even better from here on…
I have my friends who left said the exact same thing… they returned after very curious i am playing everyday… now their comment is game improved a lot, they feel so happy of that azoth cost reduction and tunning orb removal.
After our yesterday’s tempest heart expedition (we couldn’t finish the first boss after multiple tries), they told its quite challenging and game feel fresh.
They become instantly rich by selling iron battle medal and insignia (they had a loads of it).
Haha ye i had stuff stocked to … The warehouse system is amazing now the azoth costs are great i love it all and the pvp track it just feels rewarding and less stressful … The times when i paid 300 or more azoth for 1 tp … Now its just fun to play daily
They tweaked the game so literally everything you do can boost your character’s power.
Crafting, gathering, PvP, world tour zergs, just about all PvE activities, etc… It all can reward gypsum and/or umbra shards to boost your expertise levels.
Good MMOs have lots of progression paths, lots of loot, and lots of activities.
agreed! this is even without brimstone sands and great sword update. I think its all because of all the good updates from NW, current game looks much better than before.
Ah this is why crafting materials in the wilds are so scarse. More people on top of the biths are harvesting. If people are wondering why there is 1 thing solde on the market for 0.01 gold. Thats others messing with the bots that scan the market and sell items at cheaper or matched value so as tempthing as it may be. Leave that singular lode stone or mote alone.
The game has improved a a lot and is quite fun these days. Still lots to improve on but it’s my go to MMO these days. I have thoroughly enjoyed being at 600 gs and building sets and getting my trade skills to 200
